"If you are a man and want a barber cut. if you come to this place. RUN!!! A place with a lack of experience in barbershop cuts. They don't know how to make a fade . They hand you the clipper as if it were a pruner. I had a very bad experience. I shouldn't have even paid them."

"I've been getting my haircut at the Hilldale Barber Shop for a couple of years now & honestly, this place is an absolute a gem and here y'all are, fussing about some wallpaper and smells because you're crabby. Every time I walk in (which is great, appointments can be annoying), I'm greeted promptly and welcomed to take a seat for my turn. The "outdated facilities that smells and runs like it’s from the 60s" feels warm & nostalgic, reminding me of my grandma's house. That "smell from the 60s" is what a clean barbershop smells like- barbicide and anti-bacterials doing their job 24/7. If your barbershop doesn't smell like this and like the men's perfume section of a Macy's, that place is filthy and they are hiding it from you. I feel comfortable and know I'm in good hands with any of the folks there, but Pam. I can only describe Pam as a literal diamond of a barber and a kind, friendly and positive woman that I would absolutely have a beer with at the Dane. She genuinely cares about you & what you'd like, and is extremely knowledgeable about how to fix colors or how to bleach your hair. I can tell her about how I'm going on a trip with my wife and she will get excited for you. I can complain about snotty people I work with, and she will laugh along when you make fun of them. 10/5, for real. There's a reason this place has been open for 50 years."
"$10 for a simple neck trim that took less than 10 min. which was mediocre at best. but sports clips across the road was a 2hr wait. facilities are outdated. staff as well. smells and runs like it’s from the 60s. for comparison I was in Brussels city center and got a neck trim for $5. simply robbery if not outrageous!"
