Reviews
"I keep calling the number they have and it drops. How do people can make an appointment this is very poor customer service. Also when I tried calling it was still open the place."
"IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ. I was deeply disturbed after I read both 1 star reviews given about Joe Wiegel. One review says it takes a long time to get an appointment and nothing more. That's not a review, it's a comment. Even worse, it has NOTHING to do with the what kind of service they received from Joe Wiegel. They didn't even meet the man that they're giving a review for. This is totally unacceptable. The second 1 star review says, "Joe Wiegel is not an M.D.". Again, this is a comment, NOT a review, which has NOTHING to do their experience. But even worse is the stupidity of the person who wrote it. "M.D." stands for "Medical Doctor". Of course he’s not an M.D. He's a Psychologist and one of the finest you'll ever find. If someone so uneducated thinks an M.D. belongs in psychiatry then think of how uneducated their review will be. These ignorant reviews are actually compliments. First, if Joe Wiegel doesn't have an available appointment for quite awhile, that must mean he's doing something right. Why else would he be booked solid? Second, you should be happy that Sunset Physiatry Medical Center doesn't hire Medical Doctors(M.D.). That's a good thing. As a patient of Joe Wiegel for over 4 years, I'm going to give you an accurate review. I have dealt with many other psychiatric facilities over the past 20 years of my life. He is the best I've found. I go out of my way to see him because of his outstanding work. He is very understanding and cares so much for his patients well being. It's because of him that I was able to get off of methadone, which I was on for over 12 years. I love the man and he deserves much of the credit for the life I am now living. Joe Wiegel has given me the help and care that I really needed. Thank you Joe. Sincerely, Joshua Spencer"
"Dr Joe is great and the nurses are kind, but they could be more efficient with prescription refills. They take so long to send refills to the pharmacy, that I’m often left without medication for extended periods of time. I constantly have to call and pester them just to get the ball rolling. I understand the restraints of COVID, but it’s really gotten worse since they only do electronic prescription slips (as of this year) and Dr. Joe doesn’t get to the office until Thursday’s to submit them. It also doesn’t help that they’re only open Tuesdays, Thursday’s, Friday’s and Saturday’s."
"Its very hard to contact the clinic. Their hours of operation is spoken at 2x the speed so they make sure you have to keep calling to figure out their office hours. Whenever I call I end up in voice-mail. I do leave a voice mail early in the afternoon and they never call back. I called the next office hours and had to call 8 times for them to pick up. While I was speaking they hang up and I get on hold after calling a few more times so they just pick up. They say they are going to check the packets and to leave my phone number. I submitted the packets a week ago. They never called back. I actually had to ask for help for someone to call and when they do call they answer in one phone call. They said they didn't receive the packets and I said I did. They never asked for my email and they finally found it and said they're calling back. I was told I can only make an appointment at the 26th of October and I'm running out of psychiatric prescription soon. Today is the 22nd. Contacting them is soooo easy! /s"
"Update: Staff apologized and I was scheduled with the correct provider. Joe is very knowledgeable and listens. Happy to have found a new provider. They called me the day before my appointment and left a message for "Ramon" reminding him of his appointment. I called back and left a message that I wasn't Ramon. I scheduled an appointment with Joe Weigel NP but I was seen by Monica Moseley NP. I never agreed to see the different provider... They also tried to charge me a higher co-pay and said it was because of my deductible; when I know for a fact it's been paid off in full. Not sure what that's all about but I'm gonna call to try to reschedule with the provider I originally requested."
