Reviews of Centinela Hospital Medical Center
"As the clock struck the ungodly hour of 3:30 am, my wife and I found ourselves thrust into the chaotic belly of this medical establishment. Her condition, a dire and urgent affair, demanded swift attention. Yet, as we were ushered into a dimly lit room by a flustered attendant, little did we know that the nightmare was just beginning. The scene that unfolded before us was straight out of a horror movie. The staff, scurrying about in a frenzy, seemed to be engaged in a macabre dance of disorganization and panic. It was as though the very walls of the hospital were pulsating with a sense of impending doom. In the midst of this chaos, a moment of sheer humiliation descended upon us. My wife, wracked with discomfort, required assistance to relieve herself. After what felt like an eternity of searching, a nurse finally appeared, bearing a bedpan like a grim harbinger of our suffering. But alas, her aid was short-lived. No sooner had my wife been positioned on the bedpan than the nurse vanished into the ether, leaving me to navigate the mess and humiliation alone. As I embarked on the perilous journey down the hall in search of solace for my wife, fate dealt us another cruel blow. Our doctor, a figure of authority and supposed expertise, chose that precise moment to grace us with his presence. And there she sat, my beloved wife, exposed to the world in all her vulnerability, her dignity stripped bare along with her sense of privacy. With a dismissive wave of his hand, the doctor retreated, promising to return at some vague, distant hour. And so, we languished in that room of horrors, the minutes stretching into hours as we waited for salvation that seemed to never come. It was only through sheer force of will and a dash of divine intervention that my wife's condition finally began to improve. But the scars of that night, the indignity and neglect we endured, will haunt us long after we leave these walls behind."
"Thank God I'm not sickly and have not had to experience hospitalizations. Upon arriving at your facility, from registration personnel, initial check in staffers taking my vitals, then being moved to the ER, I was met with compassion, professionalism, exemplary care. I was admitted and stayed 3 days. I had no idea how acutely ill I truly was coming thru those doors. I wish to express sincere thanks to Elise the RN and Kyle in the ER, also nurses Ted and Terry and Christa on the Telemetry unit. My heart was truly touched by their extensions of long, continuous, absolute and untiring efforts to help me regain some semblance of normalcy regarding my health. The doctors were straightforward, knew exactly what had to be done and exacted their plans of care accurately and quickly. I wish to thank you ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. I forgot what it felt like to feel the way I do today---post Covid, feeling sick had become a part of my life. Thanks to your amazing staff, I'm whole AGAIN. Debra Chavez"
"I've literally never had a worse experience at any hospital. And that's saying something, cause I've had an overnight colonoscopy. I was told soooo much misinformation that I questioned whether the doctor or any of the nurses had ever been to med school. I was poked by the nurse literally 9 times trying to get the vein. And I've been told I have great veins. I was lectured and patronized for traveling to California from Utah when I was 28 weeks pregnant. They tried to tell me that was ill advised even though it's not and my entire midwife staff at home said it was more than okay. They kept me for 12 hours, and didnt even find any answers (shocker) after running no tests. They billed my insurance wrong like 4 times, until finally I gave up and decided to pay the last few portions of the bill or if pocket, but their phone system doesn't work, and when I finally got connected with an agent, they hung up on me. The staff at the front desk of the hospital were incredibly rude and didn't care if they made you cry. If I'm ever in need of medical attention in LA again, I'll just go ahead and die. It'll be cheaper and less stressful"
"When I got to the ER check in I was told they have a 6-8 hour wait. My whole body felt numb, my heart rate was high and I was hyperventilating. The lady behind the front desk checked my vitals and got me a bed. I was so happy and I was taken care of good by the nurses. Except I don’t like that nurse Emily called my cup of urine kool aid (I was on my period) I thought it was a racist comment. I asked her if she can bring me a pair of socks. She said she’s new so she doesn’t know where to find them. She could’ve asked her co workers. I asked a heart x ray employee for food and he said I might not be able to get none because I’m about to get discharged. Although I was hungry after being there for hours. Despite of that I felt better after being given iv fluids & medication to slow my heart rate."
"I am very grateful to this hospital. First time using an emergency room in my life and I could see their hard work that everyone who treated me, OMG I am grateful to God first and grateful to this hospital, the staff who treated me thank you very much for your fine attention to me, I saw people doing their job with excellence, from the one who cleaned my room to the nurse who kept me informed of my condition, thanks to each one! God bless you!"
