"Emergency room 2 hours waiting. We had international insurance and the right to get a room. They didn't bother to check the policy. Maybe if you are homeless, it can work well for you. I've been here 5 times over the years, and this was by far the longest time waiting and the least busy. Good luck!"
"Unfortunately, I had back surgery here twice and wish my doctor wasn’t affiliated with this hospital. As I look at the reviews, all relates with my bad experience as well. I woke up from surgery and called my mom and she noticed my upper lip busted, scratches under my eye. I looked up in the mirror and noticed the cut under my lip and scratches under my eye. Makes me wonder who are the savages that work in this OR under the pretense of OR anesthesia nurses. Get some shame!! What a horrible experience. Nurses have a terrible attitude, should never been in the field, like another said, I too spent a night in pain post surgery past time to take medication, and every time you ask for anything they come to your room mad. Let me remind you of something important, the insurance I pay, pays for this hospital bills which in turn pays for your salaries or you would be out of a job. Dirty hospital with worst staff ever. From security who also treated my family like criminals, to the point they didn’t want to visit anymore because of the aggravation, to nurses who are condescending, rude, lack compassion and skills. Don’t let the name Cedars Sinai fool you, is as bad as it gets."
"My husband had back surgery here last week. His spinal surgeon, the vascular surgeon and anesthesiologist were all great. Most of the nurses were kind. But the nursing assistants, security and other general staff members were awful. They treat visitors as if they are trying to get into a prison, vs seeing a sick loved one. But the most awful were the accommodations. This is truly a dirty hospital. I cannot believe it has the Cedars Sinai name. The bathroom in my husband’s hospital room reeked of urine from the moment we arrived. We asked if it could be cleaned twice and it never was. The wall paper was literally peeling, there was hair stuck to the walls and the baseboards were disgusting. The blinds were broken and the bedside table wheels didn’t work. The entire wing we were in should probably be torn down. See pictures for examples."
"I went in for intense pain and was checked out, they helped me out and informed me it may be Crohns. While waiting for an appointment with my regular doctor, I was in intense pain again and had to go back to the ER. The nurse told me that due to my pain not being in one area she couldn’t give me pain medication because it wasn’t generalized? She was very polite to the woman on the other side of the curtain, while treating me as if I was lying about my condition for drugs. Turns out the doctor called for pain relief medicine prior and she decided not to give it, as well as told me I wasn’t able to get more IV fluids in general (just hydration) as it would be wasteful. I just wanted to know what was wrong with me, possibly ibuprofen, and common decency. I seriously am bothered by the way she treated me. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone."
"Being born at Cedars Sinai in Beverly Hills, as a miracle preme in the 80s. I never heard more good things about a hospital from my parents. How impressed they were and how world class it was. Don’t let the same name fool you at the Marina del Ray location. Absolutely, the worst after care post op I have ever seen in life period. The most painful and worse night of my life to date. I went in for shoulder surgery with Dr. Lee he’s a great and highly skilled surgeon however they decided to keep me overnight after the surgery took twice as long as initially estimated. Moses the night nurse treated me Less than human, almost finding it funny in the level of pain I was in. Shame on you folks allowing someone who just had such a major surgery to be at that level and intensity of pain all night.. Caused me to stay up literally all night long hitting my nurse button to get pain medicine adjusted and they gave me literally the bare minimum treating me like I was a criminal..absolutely no relief, until Dr. Yuan the daytime attending physician and nurse Anna came in this morning to help me and apologized for the night time staff and for my horrific experience. They were both really kind compassionate and caring and had excellent bedside manner. Beware of the night staff!!! I would not wish this kind of treatment on my worse enemy."
