"Amazing spot to explore! We felt safe and had fun looking at the life within the pools"
"It is an amazing experience for any age. There are beautiful vista views from any of the three parking lots. I enjoyed the pelicans flying by. Only the first main parking lot has two out houses. Park rangers are on-site for assistance and information. All three parking lots are connected by a main road and a hiking path. Tho the heavy rains earlier in the month washed out part of the hiking path and is closed between lot 2 and lot 3. The path includes steep stairs and natural ground. It is not accessible for strollers or wheelchairs. You will have to have good mobility for the trail and getting down in the tide pools at low tide. We got there early after opening and stayed till late afternoon when the tide pulled out. Low tide is listed between 2 pm and 4 pm. Tho this is whale migration season, we did not have any luck spotting any whales from the vantage points. You can easily spend a whole day here. We started at the tide pools and then toured the light house, visitor center, whale watching vantage points, and then revisited the tide pools at low tide. We lucked out with a beautiful sunny day in winter."
"Beautiful place, beautiful views, but please DO NOT GET NEAR THE CLIFF EDGES. Please also do not climb down low on the rocks and get caught in the water when the tide rises quickly. Be smart. Dont risk your life. And do not pick up rocks or seashells here...leave everything as it is. Respect nature. Take only photos. Accessibility: There is handicapped parking, but it is a dirt pathway with stairs to get to the tide pool area. Cost: $20 per vehicle (you can have multiple people inside)."
"Tip: get an Annual Pass so you can visit often and go to other National Parks, too. All the hikes here are easy. A popular place to bike. Great views of San Diego. If going for the tide pools, be sure to check when the tide is low. Hours: 9am to 4:30pm. Last entrance is 4pm to the tide pools."
"Part of the Cabrillo National Monument. It has some great views. Dogs aren’t allowed down in the tide pools, but you can walk with them along the coastal trail at the top and get all the views. There were a lot of people surfing which was fun to watch. We did not have any issues finding parking. It is a little slick and sandy and a little inclined, but overall a fairly easy walk. Also a lot of military planes flying by."
