Reviews of Troubadour
"Who knew??? The TROUBADOUR has food... LOL. I've been here 100 times and first time I noticed. Attended last night for an Aretha Franklin tribute, incredible show. The bar bites are fantastic BTW. Check out my photo of the menu, good stuff cheap. Great burgers! Best venue in LA for live music, sound system is unbeatable, the artists booked are the beat of the best, and it's cozy inside. Usually packed. I like the front bar and the upstairs bar, they tend to be less packed. The middle bar is a zoo LOL but great seats for the show. All of the bartenders are ladies (girl power!) and the service is quick given the size of the crowds they are serving. Fire up a hot dog next time you go! LOL. They won't disappoint!"
"This place is a cool venue! It's small so it feels more intimate, yet breathable. I went to a sold out show and there was still room to jump around and it didn't feel overly crowded. There is an upstairs with seating. Honestly, good views from every angle! And the merch is cool!"
"Great venue. Limited seating so come early if you need it. The sound system is very loud and the speakers are very close to the audience so make sure to bring ear protection!"
"Disappointing. After learning of its existence in "Rocketman," my wife was adamant that we visit this iconic rock n roll location. The people working the front were condescending and acted like they couldn't be bothered. The bartender in the front was more interested in flirting with female clients than taking orders for drinks or explaining options. There is a red-head bartender in the back where the artists perform that has the customer-service skills of an angry rattlesnake. Wait. Rattlesnakes are nicer than her. My apologies to the rattlesnakes of the world. I asked for ice water. She replies, "I only have bottled water." I said, "Okay, can I have 2 cups of ice with my bottled water?" She titled her head and said, "Sure!" (annoyed) while looking my up and down then slammed the cups of ice and the water bottles in front of me. She then proceeded to act like a jerk and throw stuff away before being finished for all the customers on our side of the bar. The only decent people were in the kitchen, and the acting manager Rachelle. The food was average and a bit expensive. The drinks were expensive, too. That on top of the $50.00 to get in put us at about $140.00 in a bar that's a little bit more than a hole in the wall with artists that are literally unknown, to get treated badly by the majority of the staff really soured the experience. If you ask me, the whole staff needs to get customer service training and understand if people don't come, they lose their jobs. It's almost like they think they are the rockstars and not the employees. Maybe Jon Taffer needs to step in? The only reason the place is still open is because of its legendary rock history. It's nice that new artists have a venue to show their skills, but you'll have a better experience watching the scene at the Troubadour in the movie Rocketman."
"Had an amazing time last night! I bought the tickets in advance which was an easy process. I do recommend using the website to buy tickets. We went to see The Unlikely Candidates and Franklin Jonas. Had drinks and food which were all great. Savannah is an awesome bartender and took great care of us. I had margarita, Paloma, and Tequila sunrise and my date had a Paloma and a Long Island. They were all well made and she checked on us multiple times throughout the whole night. The staff was very kind and professional. Can't wait to go back and visit!"
