"Cafeteria pricing is fair. Parking garage is almost always full so I had to park several blocks away, and I was randomly assaulted by a deranged man in front of the hospital walking to the birth of my child. Many staff members are very nice and helpful. Security confiscated my wife’s pepper spray at the door, but allows unhinged non-patients to roam the hospital campus day and night. The building looks kinda cool from the outside. Hospital had no food for my wife to eat after 21 hours of labor (at 9:30 PM) so I had to go home and cook and bring food back. There’s some nice statues on campus. Provided me nothing more than a swivel stool to rest on for 22 hours in the delivery room with my wife (but they kept promising us a room/couch was neeeearly ready for us), forcing me to leave alone at 2:15 AM after trying to sleep on the laminate floor next to my wife and newborn."
"I had a fantastic experience in the ER last night and wanted to share. The nurses were super kind and even took steps to make sure I was seen as quickly as possible. They went above and beyond by coordinating with other departments quickly and everyone who spoke to me was nice and doing their best to help. From the folks doing registration and triage, to security, to nurses and providers it was an all around good experience which is rare to say for a busy city ER!"
"Posting about my personal unpleasant experience in the emergency department of this hospital. The article is a bit long. Thank you for your patience in reading it. First: On April 28, 2020, my husband suddenly suffered a stroke and went to the emergency room of this hospital. They did not return the phone. Second: At about 7 a.m. on December 30, 2023, the 911 emergency personnel sent him to this hospital again. In the emergency room of this hospital, some medical staff were very rude and played with their mobile phones. His family asked her when someone would call her. Let me tell you about the patient's current condition. Because my husband can't talk or walk and has a low IQ, the medical staff who was playing with his mobile phone at the door of the ward was a foreign woman and answered me unhappily and told me to wait and someone would be here soon. , I waited for about an hour and a half, but no one paid attention to me and my husband. When I asked her for the second time, she said unhappily that she would wait a moment. She was still playing with her mobile phone there, and another half passed. A few hours later, a Chinese woman who spoke Cantonese came over. I told her that my husband had not eaten or drank for two days and should I give him some salt water. She said that he had been given three generations of water, but I saw that there were indeed two bottles hanging on the shelf. The third generation saline solution was not used by my husband because his blood pressure was very low at the time due to lack of water. I asked this Cantonese-speaking Chinese woman, you have given her an intravenous drip of three generations of saline solution, why there was no urine in the small bucket he was urinating in. She told me that it was because my husband was severely dehydrated and had absorbed all the urine. I was confused at the time. He was so dehydrated. Why don't we give him some saline drip now? She was unhappy (the Chinese woman) and told her manager that I was harassing her. The patient has been in the emergency department of your hospital for a day without telling his family what happened. The family members went to the hospital emergency room and waited for two or three hours without being attended to. Instead, they complained about harassment. After a while, a foreign woman came over to me with her hands in her pockets and told me that I was harassing their nurse. I left immediately and talked about a lot of topics that had nothing to do with work. She said that their hospital was run by the government and only treated gunshot wounds and serious patients, etc. She kept the government brand on her lips and said, this Do you want to demonstrate to your family members? More than an hour after she kicked me out of the door, one of my husband's doctors said that my husband was very seriously ill. When I went there, I already discovered that my husband was severely dehydrated and his mouth was chapped. He could not speak or ask for water. I asked them to transfer me to another hospital immediately, but they disagreed. Anyway. I have completely lost trust and affection for individual medical staff in the emergency department of this hospital. It's very rude and irresponsible. I hope the management of this hospital can read this article and carefully observe whether the individual medical staff here work seriously and responsibly. The hospital is a place to treat patients, not..."
"I was supposed to get wisdom teeth removal surgery at this hospital but they keep delaying the surgery date. The original surgery date was supposed to be in 2023, then it was pushed back a week later and then it was pushed back to a month later and now they are delaying the surgery date again! For a third time! Even worse, every time they delayed the date, they did not even bother to tell me what was going on. I understand there are more important patients with emergencies but they did not even care to call me or update me. Instead, I had to call them myself to find out! Also, when I called the hospital at one point, they picked up and then hung up immediately after. What is up with that?! Anyways, they promised that they would call me back the next day to confirm the next surgery date, but they never did! So I had my family call the hospital on my behalf, but the head nurse was being rude and giving me a hard time because someone else was helping me out. Worst service ever and probably really expensive for no reason. The amount of delays and last minute changes has significantly disrupted my work and school schedule, all because the hospital cannot do their job properly and stick to one plan! Awful planning, communication and customer service skills all around. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY! UPDATE: I attempted to reschedule the surgery date, and they said they would call me back to do so, but even weeks later they never did! I will no longer reschedule and will instead go to a different place."
"This review is for the nursing staff the 4 stars is for the doctors and techs. The nurses are less friendly than the doctors. The nurses are less skillful than the techs. To be a great nurse requires both skills and the right personality. Skills can be accumulated so I am not holding youth and inexperience against the younger nurses. I met a couple of nurses who made my day and a couple who ruined my night. Overall, most of the nurses were okay and I had more than a few that I would have preferred throughout my long stay. I'm not sure I'd want to be admitted to GH in the future. But then again, the doctors and techs were great. A heart-felt thank you to the compassionate nurses and conversely, "shame-shame" on you bullies."
