"Great place to start a hike in the area, with lots of options and access to Red Rock, Cold Creek, Saddle Peak, Topanga Lookout, and the Backbone Trail. Photos are from some recent hikes on the Backbone Trail between Stunt, Piuma and Saddle Peak."
"We stumbled across this hike on our way to Topanga trail it was nice!"
"If you have binoculars and a thirst for bird watching, this is the place! There are a lot of signs indicating where specific birds tend to be nested. And it's true! It's like a zoo but without cages! It is a very chill hike, very dry even when it is 65F. Cloudy but still makes for plenty of sunshine. So expect this place to get hot if you come in the summer! Dog friendly! You'll find other people bringing their dogs. There's also one port-o-potty at the very beginning of the trail. There is a little stream that can become larger with heavier rain. It didn't make the location as cool since there was only 3.8 inches of rain. Though I only rate it a 4 since I'm biased towards hikes with more water and denser trees."
"Did this hike up from Stunt Rd and hiked the ridge trail to the lookout. Exited and hiked down Stunt to Coldwater reserve, which is a locked gate now. The fence is broken and entered on the left. Coldwater reserve trail is in bad shape and very overgrown we found remnants of the old mountain restoration project. The entire trip was 4.6 hours car to car"
"There are two trails (one to the left of the [street]parking towrd ocean and one the right side). We chose the left one. we were exposed to sun for the most of the time. If you are going for a hike in a hot summer day be sure you have enough water with you. There is a rock looks like an animal. I love it."
