Reviews of Mercy Medical Center Redding
"Wonderful people work in the emergence department. If I could give 10 stars I would do it. Thank you very much to the NP who worked on March 1, 2024 and immediately identified the problem with my son. Thank you, you are a wonderful team, from patient admission to discharge. Everything is organized super professionally ."
"I was seen by leszcynski, bartoz do, who did very little for me after care, he gave my a muscle Relaxant that we had skyway proven didn't help alone.. he then refused to send me home something to give me more comfort of only 2-3 meds till I can see my orthopedic dr tomorrow.. idk when doctors quit caring about patients' needs? But it's very concerning... because not only was my neck locked up but it's been in terrible terrible pain.. and he didn't care.. also his supervisor didn't care or try to support me in any way.."
"Our family has had the privilege of having Nurse Holly W in ICU. Holly has been amazing and beyond. She has kept our family informed to the fullest, and has been so kind, sweet, and most of all caring. She’s been patient, she’s been an absolute dream Nurse. Our family is so thankful for you Nurse Holly W. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do. We bless you."
"On Monday 1/8/24 at 11:15 am I arrived at the ER for a concern about my health. I arrived with a really nasty headache and my blood pressure was quite elevated at 180/106. The triage didn't happen for close to an hour, and then following the triage, they did a series of tests; bloodwork, EKG, chest x-ray, CT of my brain, CT of my chest, and lastly was an ultrasound of my leg. I was parked in the side hallway from 11:15 am until 9:45 pm waiting for results from the various tests. I was never offered water which placed me in A position to have to go ask where the Water is located . When I walked through the door from the hall to the main area of the ER, I was greeted by the security man. He told me that I shouldn't be coming through these doors back-and-forth through the door because it's locked for a reason. When I told him I wanted some water he told me they're fountains over in the corner Well, I don't drink out of public fountains because I have IPF And I will not risk getting ill. I turned around to ask if there's a cup anywhere, No one was available to ask. When the doctor came to talk to me at 9:00 pm he told me that they could not find anything wrong and if I needed to talk to my primary care doctor about my blood pressure I need to do that on my own. He told me there was nothing wrong. He did not give me copies of anything. I don't think he had anything to give However, when I went on my patient portal on the 10th it indicated that my coagulation number was high and I ended up calling some of my primary care doctor to ask her what that meant and they said I need to make an appointment with my cardiologist ASAP so I called my cardiologist and I got an appointment for today. My comment includes the fact that they never even talk to me about the fact that this particular number was Out of range. I'd like to know why I'm hoping that I don't have a blood clot However, it would explain my poor health at the moment, and how awful I feel. I honestly think it's unconscionable that they did not talk to me about this before I left and I not gone through my own bloodwork on my own. I would never have known that I need to get this checked out. I've spent the last two days trying to share with anyone who is a manager at Mercy.. That is also been very pleasant. My batting averages zero at this point no one has been available to talk to you about my poor experience."
"Honestly, I haven’t been to other emergency rooms but they have to be better than this. Staff is friendly but there is so much that is wrong. Floors are dirty (blood, dirt, who knows), things are broken, bathrooms are not cleaned enough. An example of something broken, see video of door banging against the rail every time it opens. Wednesday I was here and spent 8 hours for pain and didn’t get medicine for hours. And unfortunately doctor said I had to come back. He said if I came early on Sat I should be in and out in a two hours. Well I got here 6 am, the place was pretty empty, got labs done in the two hours and then they said they wanted to do another test and it would be quick. So they put me back in a room and told me to sit in the chair (not the bed, there was no blanket or pillow). Didn’t hear from anyone for an hour, had to flag down a nurse who said they would try to find out for me. For her to finally bring someone and say they are really busy and it will be a much longer wait. I understand there is triage, but don’t say one thing and not follow through. Or put me back in an empty room to forget about me. There is something very wrong with their ED system."
