"We just bought a Collared Aracari from Emerald Forest. She is everything we were hoping for and more. She's such a sweet bird! Storm and Jerry were great the whole way through. They've patiently answered all my newbie toucan owner questions over the past few weeks. We had a few Covid related delays and they were fantastic about making accommodations for us. We live in PA so they had to ship her to us. She arrived lively, alert (even after so many hours in a carrier) and so incredibly well socialized. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for a toucan species for their next pet. If we ever decide to get another one in the future, we will definitely be coming back!"
"Bought a Curl Crested Aracari from Emerald Forest Bird Gardens! He's so sweet! They had great customer service, replied timely to every email & were very helpful! We live in Colorado so ended up shipping our new family member (which I had never done before). They were great with communication & walking me through the process. We love our new baby & will definitely look to Emerald Forest Bird Gardens in the future when we decide to add another feathered friend to our family!"
"It has been about 5 1/2 years since I purchased my Curl Crested Aracari, Ziggy, from Emerald Forest Bird Gardens. The facility and aviaries were clean, and I loved staying in one of the cabins! I even heard a peacock walking on rooftop of the cabin in the morning! Jerry gave me a wonderful tour and I met his Keel Billed Toucan, Chestnut Eared Aracari and one of smaller species of Cockatoos ( forgot name of species) living inside his home. I enjoyed visiting the nursery and receiving instructions on the proper care of Toucans! Anyone who is considering a Toucan, Aracari, or Toucanet as a companion must do some research and make sure you can provide all its needs as well as make sure it fits into your lifestyle. Toucan life is much different than that of a parrot! Not the same in diet, diseases and temperament! Always get one when it is a baby for easier time bonding and taming! Jerry is the go to person for advice and knowledge due to his 30+ years of experience. Storm is awesome too! She and Jerry have been very patient with me as I am currently on a mission to figure out which toucan species I want to bring home next. Since I already have two boys, Ziggy, the Curl Crested Aracari, and Zak, the Keel-Billed Toucan, I want to give them a sister, whom I have already named Zelda, to complete my trio."
"It has been a lifelong dream to work with toucans. I purchased a Crimson Rumped Toucanet from Jerry and my experience start to finish was incredible. I cannot recommend these wonderful animals or this breeder enough! Great support before, during and after purchase."
"I purchased a Blue and Gold baby from Jerry Jennings of Emerald Forest Gardens. I picked my bird out as a baby. My bird was still on formula feedings which I knew nothing about. I was told by Mr. Jennings that he was leaving on vacation and that I had to take my bird home with me. My bird was in no condition to be given to me yet. I was taught one time how to give my bird formula and that was it. I took my bird home since I was told that I had to and I tried so hard to feed my baby bird and take such good care of her. Unfortunately forcing a an unweaned bird onto someone who doesn't know what they are doing is an awful mistake on the breeders part. My baby ended up dying because I didn't know what I was doing. I told Mr.Jennings thinking that he would have a heart and compassion since he forced me to get my bird since he was going on vacation but nothing. He refused a replacement or a discount on a new bird. I was left was a very expensive cage, the best toys and feed and no bird. It broke my heart. All I wanted was a replacement bird but he was very uncaring. Wish I would of shopped around. I miss my bird so much."
