"Nice, quiet area to observe birds, especially Acorn Woodpeckers. My guess is it is a prime spot when water is available. I spent about an hour and saw/heard about 20 species of birds, deer, rattlesnake, and multiple lizard species."
"I've been going to the bird sanctuary in Griffith Park since 1992, and it is just as magical today as it was the first day I discovered it. If you're looking for a private intimate place in the park to bring your sweetheart and spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the bird sanctuary is an ideal option. It's also a great place for a romantic picnic or a serious conversation that requires the ambiance and that special je ne sais quoi of a natural environment. At the end of the trail, you'll find, after rainy days, a beautiful stream of water coming out the Mountainside; it is as beautiful as it is refreshing."

"This is a very easy trail.if you're looking for something a lot more challenging this is not for you. It is a gradual incline up the loop and a decline down the loop. It is probably less than a mile walk. It is not shaded, so I would recommend mornings or later in the day. Today I saw a hawks, chickadees, woodpeckers & hummingbirds. There are snakes this time of year and the path is very overgrown so keep your eyes open."
