Reviews of Residence Inn by Marriott Ontario Airport
"The room was great. Very rare to have an actual oven in the room, very nice. Directly across the street from a convention center. This ends the positive things I have to say. The staff will take any money you have left out, and at least one of the maintenance people is on the take with a local group of criminals. I know this because I actually have a video of a guy trying to break into a unit after leaving unit 1114. Another unit was broken in to and the only thing taken were their car keys, the vehicle was stolen. The staff who check you in will hit your credit card repeatedly with the deposit. One of my guest I spoke with was charged 3 times in one week. Hotel management has changed, and the new manager cleaned out most of the cleaning staff. Even with the new cleaners, I know of two people who were staying there that had their rooms totally cleaned out. Everything was just gone save what the hotel owned. The on site security is absolutely useless. The easiest way to find them is to look in their cars. You will find them either asleep or with there nose buried in their phone. Three of my coworkers and I have had people try and force their way in to our rooms while we were in them. Nice rooms, nice amenities, but unless you want to be robbed blind, DO NOT STAY HERE!"
"I got out of here as fast as I could. In fact my colleagues that dropped me off here basically begged me to let them pick me up and bring me somewhere else. This place has a really bad vibe and an outdated model to match. No elevator and locks that look like anyone could just walk into my room. There were drunk people shouting and I heard lots of thumping idk if it was children jumping or people fighting but it was unsettling. I did not stay the night here. I simply just left. Truly felt unsafe. I would not recommend staying here."
"TL/DR: RUN! RUN AWAY! RUN WHILE YOU CAN! So you just found the cheapest Marriott on the outskirts of Los Angeles and you're thinking you can save a few bucks here, how bad can it be? BAD. VERY BAD. ALERT. INVEST IN A BETTER HOTEL. We've stayed in Residence Inn hotels and other Marriotts up and down California over the years and this is the absolute worst by a wide margin. This place is desolate. Our room was missing basic amenities (towels, toilet paper, tissues, silverware, pots and pans, spatula, bowls) that every residence inn has. The door locks will make you feel like you're living in a national lampoon movie as you try to open it three times until you slam it open and spill your coffee on their outdated carpets. The mechanic came by and told us all the doors have the same lock and don't open easily and you just have to "open it better." The lights and the TV flicker on and off randomly which is probably faulty electrical. The freezer made weird whirring buzzing noises ALL NIGHT LONG. And about most of the day too. Our neighbors above us were either rehearsing a touring production of stomp the musical or the walls and ceiling are just so thin that their footsteps kept us up all night and woke us up every morning. The bathroom has no ventilation. The buffet is lacking in quantity and quality. The staff, as much as I hate complaining about hourly workers, were uncharacteristically unhelpful for Marriott and clearly don't have the tools to access everything they need to like, you know, run a hotel. Half the washing and dryer machines were broken and they eat your quarters and it costs 5 bucks to do a load. This parts unrelated but I lost my favorite earrings here and that makes me hate this place more but that's a me thing not a you thing, I just want the manager hopefully reading this to know this place makes me deeply unhappy and also one of you were rude to me in the lobby when we checked in so thanks for that memory too. Oh and there's construction all over the roads around here, and the other side of the parking lot is blocked off half the time. Moral of the story is don't stay here. It ain't worth it. And if you don't believe me, keep scrolling and read the hundreds of other reviews about the terrible time they had here. You're welcome."
"So we came up for a quick trip to see a show and hang out for the weekend. This was a convenient area and distance to where we were going and had the space we were looking for. It was an easy drive from San Diego and easy to find with lots of parking. The check in process was not a problem and accommodating most of our needs was simple too. Beyond that it isn’t a place I would stay at again. In 2024 in California it is mind boggling to me that if you want/need more than one bedroom that this place isn’t ADA compliant. That wasn’t on their website and wasn’t in the booking information and my friend is currently immobile waiting to have surgery. We needed more than one bed for the four of us. Finding the building was easy and there was ample parking and a handicap spot right in front of the building. The stairs were narrow and overall the outside needs updating. We entered the suite and it had a decent layout. The kitchen area had a large peninsula and chairs. The counter is granite and in good condition. The chairs were extremely worn and need to be changed out. The kitchen was a good size and it and the fridge were clean which was a positive. The dishes and silverware were an issue. There were odd numbers of things not a four piece setting as it should have been. There were three plate one bowl three salad plates. There were three forks, two spoons, and four knives. It was just annoying. The beds were clean as were the bathrooms. The first floor bath oddly didn’t have a toilet paper holder. Why? The loft bed area was fine and clean and also had a tv. The bathroom was decent and stocked okay. There was only one face cloth and hand towel. A set of two would have been more appropriate. While getting ready later the first evening I discovered that the motion sensor light in the loft vanity area shut off every 30 seconds or so. So while putting on makeup I had to keep swiping at the air or moving but as soon as I stood still it would shut off. The amenity we were excited to use the hot tub was closed. Just another bummer. Lastly, the customer service was lacking in communication overall but was pleasant when we were able to get ahold of staff. While we had a good relaxing weekend we will find a different property for our next trip up. Step up your game, Marriott."
"probably one of the worst i've been to, first of all, they tried to give us a handicap room when none of us are handicapped, and then after asking for extra blankets, they never gave it to us. At first the room itself was fine until I saw some holes in the carpet, the dishes that look like they were only washed with cold water and no soap, a dusty bathroom, horrible water pressure, The TV has no channels, the room above us has creaky floorboards, so whenever they walk around It gets pretty annoying, there's literally one extra roll of toilet paper, there's only like 5 outlets in the entire room (2 of them are behind a TV stand and a night stand) the curtain to the "patio" barely covers anything, the shower curtains don't do anything to prevent water from falling out which leads to a big mess, they have 3 different bottles for shampoo, body wash, and conditioner but they all look and smell the same, and on top of all this, this place is a maze, it took like 10 minutes to find my room (they literally had to provide a map). (Also they didn't want to let us buy breakfast for some reason)"
