"Stayed there the second time. Comfortable clean rooms, very quiet even though we were facing the street. Easy access, friendly staff, continental breakfast included a plus. Rooms are equipped with coffee makers, fridge, and microwave. There is also a nice little pool."
"Needed a place to rest after a long flight ending at LAX before continuing on to Mexico. Late night staffer Morgan schlepped my bags to the room (I was exhausted) and we were pleasantly surprised. It's dated, but it's lovely, and we had a delightful garden view."
"Pros: The location is convenient for traveling and seeing the sights, and the price of the hotel is affordable compared to most in the area. The breakfast attendants also seemed friendly and in good spirits. These are the only reasons I'm putting 2 stars instead of 1. Cons: 1. The hotel is located right next to a fire station and busy road, so be prepared to hear loud cars and firetrucks late at night and early in the morning when you try to sleep. 2. I'm not sure if all the rooms are this way, but the one we stayed in was not in good condition. The bathroom was filthy and had stains on the walls. There was a crack underneath the door which made it easy for bugs to crawl into the room (which we saw a few of). 3. For breakfast, they don't serve you anything cooked like most other hotels do. You don't get any eggs, waffles, sausage, bacon, etc.. Instead, all they offer you is fruit, cereal, one pastrie of your choice (mostly prepackaged ones), and the usual choice of beverage (juice, coffee, or milk). They also don't allow you to go up for seconds, so you better get all you need the first time around or you'll leave hungry. So, overall the stay was disappointing. We'd rather just pay a bit of extra money to stay at a place that is in better condition and isn't stingy with their breakfast items."
"We visit family in the area and this is the 4th year in a row we have stayed at this lodge. The staff is super nice. They maintain/upgrade the rooms and year after year the property is just beautiful with small gardens everywhere. Nice little breakfast room in the am. The friendly, welcoming staff is best part. We always leave with such a nice feeling and look forward to coming back. Carol T and John Hook"
"My wife and I decided to give Laguna Hills Lodge a second chance after experiencing some unpleasant issues with our last room in July. Management was apologetic and offered us thirty percent off our next stay. When we checked into our room this time, the phone did not work, and the toilet was dirty. We immediately informed management, and they moved us to a new room next door. The ChargePort did not work in that room, and the room's safe battery door was off, with the batteries lying inside the safe. There was also a foul smell from the bathroom exhaust fan every time you turned it on and a musty smell from the carpet that looked like it needed cleaning. I also inquired about the building's first-floor main entrance door propped open 24/7, giving anyone access to the building, which I feel is a BIG SECURITY ISSUE !!! And UNSAFE for the Lodge's guests. Management informed me that the door was open so the guest could access the building. My take: Nothing good can come of that door being propped open like that 24/7. As I stated, I did address these issues and concerns with management. I hope they don't take these matters lightly and make the necessary corrections to address them because I got an indifferent and unapologetic response this time when I brought up these issues to management. And I clearly stated I was not looking for any additional discounts. On a more positive note, the Lodge's garden is lovely and well-kept, surrounded by fantastic places to eat."
