Reviews of Kawada Hotel
"This hotel is a scam!! And dirty BEDBUGS !! Me and my girlfriend checked in March 9th 2024 , they don’t tell you anything communication is horrible they told us we’d have to pay 40$ a day for valet only to find out type can park in the same garage for 12$ a day if you park yourself !!!! , also there’s a parking garage right across the street that charges 20$ a day that they don’t tell you about because they want you to pay 40$ for valet , the rooms are crammed and very small & have a weird smell had to move rooms due to space , now we get moved to room 311 which is INFESTED with bedbugs it wasn’t until night number 3 where we discovered bites all over our body , when we reached out to the manager her exact words were “ well you guys already been here 2 nights and I’ve never had a complaint from that room before” I took it upon my self to go to google and scroll through the reviews where I found a review stating the SAME room 311 that we just got moved to had bedbugs !!! This hotel is a overall scam , great price not so great people environment is janky DO NOT RECOMMEND"
"The rooms are very small, not nice like the photos. Although they had cribs. I used one for my baby, my son enjoyed it. Not family friendly neighborhood. I don't recommend walking around in that area. I have a 1 year old and as we were walking a homeless person was walking straight towards us. And kicking a door as we were trying to get away from him. It's horrible not safe so dangerous. I think all hotels should shut down in that area, it's so sad. I know it is by skid row, had I known before I would not have stayed there. The only good thing around there is grand central market. I feel like that area has gotten worse. It's so dangerous it has been taken over. Also there was a night club down stairs so loud my baby and I were trying to sleep."
"The hotel staff were not very friendly or welcoming upon arrival. The hotel location was the reason why we chose to stay here. The room was very small and was musky. There was virtually no storage. The restroom was the same save as our travel trailer restroom, CRAMPED! We also found a roach that I was able to kill. The valet service was fine, but they did force my trucks motorized side mirrors open instead of pushing the button, I was able to get them working again, thank God. All in all, I will not be staying here again."
"We stayed here for three nights. The room was very basic even though it was supposed to be a double bed deluxe room. Open rack type of cupboards with tiny bathroom and very little space to move around. The bed was put against one wall which made it difficult for the person who slept near the wall to get out of bed. Nothing deluxe about the room. There was a lingering musky smell in the corridors. Service was basic too. The only positive about the hotel was location and a spacious lobby. There were no decent restaurants nearby for breakfast or dinner. The place closet to the hotel was the Grand Central Market where we had our breakfast. I will only give 2.5 star for this hotel and with a little extra cost you can have a much better hotel stay with inhouse restaurants or with breakfast thrown in. If you are not fussed about the conveniences and just want a place to stay overnight this might suit you."
"Pleasant hotel in downtown Los Angeles near the Music Center, Disney Hall, and several good museums. Even though my room was on the small side, it was quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were a microwave, a fridge, and a water heater for coffee or tea in the room. The water heater did not work well. A full cup of water in the tank generated a half cup of instant coffee. The rest of the water steamed into the air. The bathroom was compact, but with a large enough corner shower to be able to turn around in. I suggest the hotel has all the windows washed. They look truly filthy! Reception personnel was very pleasant. Valet parking is available at an extra $40/day charge. Too bad the attached restaurant is not open on weekends for breakfast or dinner."
