Reviews of Short Stories Hotel
"Nice hotel with nicely done renovations! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. They provide a Nespresso machine and coffee pods which is always nice. The hotel is right across the street from the CBS studios and the beautiful Grove Mall and Farmers Market. We stayed right after the holidays and it was such a treat to see The Grove completely lit up with Christmas lights! We were 10 minute walking distance from a few amazing restaurants (The Animal, Son of a Gun). The restaurant next to the hotel, Tart, is very cute and food was good! Warning though, we ordered room service our last morning and it took almost an hour for breakfast to get to our room (which was a problem because we had a flight to catch). Overall, the hotel provided a great experience for our two day trip."
"We stayed for three nights, for the second leg of our honeymoon. We came from Indiana to Las Vegas to L.A. We decided to come a day early, and they helped us make that happen, and also upgraded our suite. We were offered complimentary champagne and strawberries, I enjoyed the best AM coffee (my favorite - a red eye). They sent enough options I was able to share with my husband. The property is non-smoking, which is refreshing coming from Vegas. Housekeeping was attentive and thorough, making sure all our requests were met. The room was very clean. In-room options are a little expensive (as to be expected), so come prepared! Everyone at the front desk was kind, generous, and thorough. We were even given some personalized itineraries for our trip to Universal (which we did two days in a row). It was a nice touch! We had a little confusion about our bill at checkout, and the management and front desk staff were attentive in helping us to understand. We had a phenomenal stay, and they made sure we understood all the details. There are birds in the lobby that you become very excited about seeing when you go in and out. We couldn’t have experienced a better time. 10/10 - would recommend to anyone!"
"It was my first time visiting this place. And I live here in California. But, I was very impressed. They have a very nice bar area that's warm n friendly. Very relaxing whether you are alone or w/guest. And I loved the patio where they served my party of about 25 . The food was nice. Breakfast n champagne n orange juice was nice too. Overall I really enjoyed this place. Oh, the bathroom was clean."
"Pretty good located in West Hollywood. Really close to the Grove shopping zone and the Farmer's market. The hotel has a very peculiar aesthetic, decorated in the style of "the farm" while still being modern and functional. It has a small pool in the middle and a restaurant (with one small but tasty menu). The staff is friendly, nice and helpful. (It has valet parking). The rooms are wide enough, clean and comfortable. The price is not really low, but the quality worths it."
"Friendly staff (especially everyone working valet)! As someone with two years previous hotel work experience, I was impressed with the service and smiles. The decor was cute and fun, and the location is also amazing. Overall I would recommend staying here. I do have one warning, be aware of the room setup. I was in a two queen room and the bathroom door is barn style sliding so it blocks no sound and does not latch. If you're traveling with other adults who respect the closed door, it isn't an inconvenience."
