Reviews of Little Yosemite Area
"Quite place, restrooms horrible, yes its dog friendly. Haven’t seen anyone giving entry tickets as that booth is always closed. Lots of picnic spots but not sure about barbecue if it’s allowed or not. Good hiking spot too for beginners"
"The streambed, which becomes a river after rains, is full of huge old maples, twisted and rooted, clinging to the stones. There are beautiful green hills covered with green grass and huge old oaks that have lowered their branches to the ground. There are also enormous rocks forming a narrow channel in one place where the water churns. Moreover, this park is enormous, with rocky peaks in some places and cows grazing on these green fields."
"Great hiking place and it gained little elevation, have plenty of parking spots. Hiked here on weekday. Hiking was adventurous as I was able to witness mountain lion and then Snake (refer videos). I suggest to carry pepper spray and Some safety gears."
"I hiked this trail known as "little Yosemite" a few days ago. It is a moderate hike, no shade at all, so wear a hat and sunscreen. Hydrate prior to hiking and during hiking. I had one of the little pools for myself for about four hours. The little waterfalls are about a mile away from the entrance/parking lot. Even though there are a lot of signs saying "no swimming," people still get in the water. It is cold and clear, and you can even see the little fish. Also, make sure you bring snacks and pick up after yourself. It was great to see how clean it was, no garbage. There is a $5 feed for the parking lot. People do pininics and BBQ up there. Also, there are restrooms all over the park. It is dog friendly."
"This place is at the Sunol Wilderness. The trail is not with shades so make sure you are hydrated, so carry water, sunscreen and bring a hat. It's a moderate hike but worth the view of the waterfall. The terrain near the fall is similar to Yosemite and one can see the granite broken all over the place which is nature made. The entry to the park is $5.00 and there's a lot of parking and a restroom available. People do come here to do picnics, and BBQ near the water. It's a nice place for friends and family to gather and enjoy nature. There are different creeks that flow such as Alameda Creek and others. It's fresh water so people do dip in the water as well. Overall a recommended hiking place."
