Reviews of Dental Associates
"Offered me a second interview then canceled the day before due to filling up the position, very unprofessional and poorly timed. Would not recommend working for a company that does not conduct all interviews as scheduled and cancel a day prior."
"I love this dental office been coming here for years! They always make me comfortable! Dr and hygienist are great!"
"2/3 visits to dental associates iron block were by far my worst experiences at an orthodontist yet. I was sucked in by the first visit because James Schmidt, D.D.S, M.S was nice and said invisalign would help straighten my teeth and the office is very nice. Beyond that everything went downhill. For background my teeth relapsed after braces because my permanent bottom retainer kept breaking off from my teeth. After getting new dental insurance, I decided to get them straightened out. For my second visit, a records appointment where they take x-rays and various images of your teeth, the dental assistants were incapable of performing their jobs. One dental assistant did not understand how to operate the x-ray machine and we spent 20 minutes for her to figure out which buttons to click and the next dental assistant did not know how to take pictures for my records appointment (she didn't pull my cheek back far enough not to mention she didn't realize the camera was out of batteries). Then, the doctor removed my permanent bottom retainer and in the middle of it, he had to go assist another patient in the room because her trays (likely invisalign) were not fitting. Turns out they didn't even order her trays. I heard all this because they place up to 4 patients in the same room. For my 3rd visit, it was supposed to be 4 weeks after my records appointment to allow he trays to be ordered. Well, the day before my scheduled appointment, they called and said my trays were not ready and to reschedule for 4 weeks out. Guess they forgot to order them... So by the time I finally had my third visit, I come in and get seen after filling out billing information. The dental assistant started prepping my teeth to bond on bumpers I think they called them? They kept popping off immediately after curing the glue or when the tray was put in or out of my mouth. The doctor proceeded to scold the assistant for not getting my teeth dry enough, but the same issues happened to him. They sent me away with only a few bumpers still attached to my teeth and said to come back in 2 weeks. The next day, 3 more bumpers and parts of glue came off my teeth from simply putting in and taking out the trays. Regardless, I was given the impression I would only need aligners and not all this extra stuff that feels like braces part 2. My braces snapped off very frequently too, and after telling Dr. Schmidt, he brushed it off. To add the kicker to my 3rd appointment, they validate parking at a structure 5min walk away. However, after exiting the garage, I had to pay $10 because they did not validate my ticket even when they handed it to me and said it was validated. Needless to say I'm still very angry and do not recommend this office to anyone. They are understaffed, have incompetent employees, do not listen to your concerns, lie about validating parking, and never answer the phone when I call them to ask about these issues."
"I had a bad experience with Dental Associates in Downtown Milwaukee, involving two issues that were messed up by their employees. It took 8 to 9 months to resolve the issues with my frequent follow-up! I visited for a tooth filling back in July 2022 and was told that my insurance won’t cover 100%. Despite the fact that I knew that my insurance would fully cover fillings and told that to the lady at the front desk, she didn't accept that and I paid that partial amount anyway. Later on, I contacted my insurance and realized that I was not supposed to be charged. I let Dental Associates know about this and asked for a refund. Let’s move on to my next visit, which is relevant to this one. I visited the dentist for another filling that caused my tooth to be very sensitive to hot /cold liquids. I then visited the doctor again for a redo. After the visit, it was still sensitive, and I stopped by again for a redo. I later noticed that they charged my insurance for both of these visits, consisted as redone!! WHAT THEY DID WAS ABSOLUTELY UNETHICAL! I let my insurance know about this to prevent any charges. I’ve never seen this anywhere to charge the patients for redo. I was in touch with a lady named, Tina Young, who was trying to resolve the above two issues but in fact she or maybe her colleagues messed up everything! What they were supposed to do was very simple, dismiss the two charges for redone and refund the money I paid out of my pocket. What happened later was that they charged me for the amount that they owe me!! It was ridiculous. In the phone conversation that I had with Tina Young, she admitted that she and their team/colleagues messed up everything. It took several months they resolve these issues and send me the refund. I was absolutely unsatisfied with their services. They wasted a lot of my time. I wrote this review to share my experience with others."
"Every time I would try to call, I was immediately put on hold for at least 15 minutes. When I tried to schedule an appointment the "earliest availability" was 2 months later. I get you're incredibly busy, but it really makes your patients feel like you don't care about us."
