Reviews of Lower Great Highway Trail
"This is a trail that is on the raised area that the great highway runs along. You can also catch views of the sand and ocean and you can also see the city and some of Marin County. On the weekend the highway is shut down to our traffic which makes the trail even more enjoyable. There are crossing points with traffic lights where you can cross the highway and then enter into the sandy beach area. On the other side of the highway is a concrete promenade. Further north. Of course there is also another problem or not that is directly across the street from Golden gate Park. There are restrooms along the path, and you can catch a couple of the Muni lines nearby too. It's not too bad, just below the path."
"Easily one of my favorite places in the world on a sunny day. And it's beautiful and epic even on a blustery day"
"Nice trail. No crowds. Good for a walk to clear your head or jog. Mostly, locals use this trail."
"Catch me drifting yo... good convo, vibes, views, and real peeples out here drawn to my mother océan. A lady had a kite and said it was good flying today. I told her the Kite Festival would be in May. I can't wait!"
"Stopped here when I was in SFO for Thanksgiving. I was a chilly day, but the sun was out and the beach area was perfect. Getting here wasn't a challenge. Parking too wasn't a challenge. The walk to the beach was simple and it was clean and decent. The crowds were slight and not crazy. I bet during good summer days the place can get packed. The road by the beach was shut but I believe they do that during weekends to keep traffic off. Very pedestrian friendly. Had a good time."
