"I hate leaving a negative review, especially for something that should have been so joyful and fun…but I hope to save the next person from wasting their time or money with this business. I had an absolutely horrendous experience here at the farm, which was disappointing because we were so excited to visit. Planning and purchasing the visit was smooth, but the communication on site was anything but. Our host was rude, cold and seemed disappointed to have visitors. It felt like the second we got there as if we were in her way or as if we were a nuisance to her day. Her lack of enthusiasm and annoyance made the entire experience uncomfortable. We tried to lighten the mood or ask engaging questions but it seemed like if we didn’t ask questions we wouldn’t get any information. While the alpacas are adorable, they are skittish and hard to play with. Ive visited other animal tours before and never experienced this, so it felt like these animals were just living uncomfortably. We later learned that these animals are continuously bred for their wool, which may be normal practice but was disheartening to learn about with no other detail or explanation of how the farm was started. When asked how the farm chose names for the animals, the host said “unfortunately I have to do it” and that was basically her attitude the entire trip. Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe she hates giving tours, but either way I will never recommend this experience or business to anyone ever again. Save your time, pick another place that is hopefully kinder. As you can see in the host’s replies below, there is no acknowledgment or apology for the rude and unwelcoming behavior of the host."
"It was a great experience visiting Menagerie Ranch. I have always been fascinated by alpacas, and this ranch truly exceeded my expectations. The owners were incredibly knowledgeable and shared their expertise with enthusiasm. Their dedication to the well-being of their alpacas was evident in every aspect of the ranch. It was a joy to witness the alpacas roaming freely, their soft fleece glistening in the sunlight. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to interact with the alpacas up close. I also had the opportunity to browse their store, which offers a wide range of alpaca-related products. From yarn and clothing to unique handmade crafts, there was something to suit every taste. The quality of the products was exceptional, and it was a pleasure to support a local farm that values sustainability and fair trade practices."
"A Good family stop, plan for about 1-2hrs of time here. My little one (3yo) wasn't too thrilled about petting/being in the pen with them, but loved feeding them through the fence!"
"Love this ranch! Alpacas are so beautiful and groomed :))! The owner Deb is so good person! She gave us so many interesting information about Alpacas. But remember that you need to make an appointment before you go there. Highly recommend everyone to visit this farm."
"Deb was a wonderful tour guide who showed us the different alpacas on their ranch. I sent her an email about a tour, and she responded very quickly about openings for a tour. It's $10 per person for the tour, and you get to meet a number of different alpacas. You also get to feed them and take a picture with a couple. Be aware that you don't get to go directly into their pens (except for the picture) because they're easily frightened, but they come right up to the low fences because they're curious animals. Would definitely recommend people to come through :)"
