Reviews of Paramount Theatre Oakland
"What an incredible gem of a theater. We saw a community concert here (MLK / Stevie Wonder tribute) and the volunteer docents were so kind and explained some of the decor to me and my daughter."
"I had an amazing time at this historical Oakland landmark, seeing the soulful and legendary KEM perform on New Year’s eve. The theater is quite huge and the interior is stunning. There’s paid street parking and couple of parking lots around but overall, parking can be a nightmare here, so it’s best to use some ride hailing service and save yourself the parking stress."
"Beautiful venue.. staff so nice and friendly. Once the show began taken to my seat I realized it was perfect for me. "Festival of Laughs" Google it soooooo funny hilarious. If you get a chance and like this type of humor? I recommend."
"I found street parking a few blocks away, and felt safe and secure, leaving my car, there, and walking to the Paramount theater. Upon arriving, there were two long lines of people waiting to get in to watch Lila Downs perform. I can tell immediately who was walking up to see the performance because there were many beautifully dressed people , with colorful, traditional, Mexican attire, and large flower headbands. I loved the vibe and energy from the audience. From the moment you walk in to the theatre, it’s immediately stunning. There are high ceilings and multiple floors. I sat toward the back balcony and although I could hear the performers, I felt that the acoustics could’ve been better. The show lasted for an hour, and I was a bit surprised because it was advertised for longer. Despite those two observations that leave room for improvement, I had a wonderful time and will definitely come back to the theater. It was a beautiful experience. Lastly, there were food trucks and plenty of restaurant options for before and after the show hunger cravings so that was a plus."
"Hold on.... just one second... I need to lift my jaw from the floor... it's.... AMAZING!! This historical Oakland landmark is definitely one of the most architecturally beautiful buildings that I have had the opportunity to explore. It truly embodies elegance and class of the 1920's, an almost forgotten era that's quickly fading into history. The staff are top tier employees, second to none. If you ever have the chance to experience the Paramount theater, you definitely will not be disappointed."
