Reviews of Quest Diagnostics
"This place sucks. I'm pretty sure their phone system is designed to make people hang up. I'd rather be slapped in the face. Talk about unprofessional. I've had to wait an hour after the time of my scheduled appointment to be seen. It was for a quick blood panel, nothing complex. Once I got in, I was refused lab service without a physician's request. My doctor made the request. I confirmed he made the request. They never responded and then said they didn't receive it when I returned. I've made 3 separate trips to this farce of a lab and won't be coming back. This place is truly a waste of time. Get your work done elsewhere."
"Very quick and efficient service with appointment, depending on which lab tech you get. Easy check in. Great phlebotomy skill. Friendly and put me at ease. Highly recommended"
"(TLDR - If you try to make an appointment in person, they will not help you. If you come without an appointment, your wait time will quadruple the estimate they gave you, and then you will be rudely turned away even before closing time. If you express disappointment or plead with them that it's important for the well-being of someone you care for that they have the labs done today - they will threaten to call the police.) I am a caretaker for a woman in her late eighties with many health complications and difficulty ambulating. I registered at 3:42 pm. On the screen were 4 people ahead of us and the estimated time was 15 minutes. I checked the option to receive a text message and then went to the car to wait as she has a dog with a disability. I waited 30 minutes before going back in to check. The screen said 13 minutes, with 3 people ahead of us. So we went in to wait and to see what was going on. There were somehow still 4 people on the message board and it said 2 mins for the first person, 5 mins for the second, and 8 mins for us. This was at about 4:10 pm. There was only 1 person in that time period we were waiting for that went in for service. When that person came out, there was a long delay, and no one was called. I could hear two people in the back having a casual conversation, seemingly about their personal lives. Then one of them said - "Well, do you think we should just tell the rest of the people that we're closing?" Then, a woman emerged and informed us that they were closed for the day and that we would all have to come back another time or make an appointment. I was in disbelief. Not just for the terrible lack of communication and inconvenience - but for the brazen apathy and total lack of compassion and professional courtesy that this employee displayed. I tried to explain to this woman that I did try to make an appointment earlier, that we had waited almost an hour when told 15 minutes, and that we were reasonably perturbed. I asked her why the screen couldn't be more accurate and she said "it's just a computer". I then asked if there was a reason they could not have let us know earlier that we would not be seen. There were four people, all of whom have been waiting for an hour. I tried to explain to her that it was a challenge for my client to get here and asked if there was any way they could take her. She then threatened to call the police!! (???) Instinctively, I took my phone out. She was scaring me. In no way did I want to have this person, who was ready to call the police on a caretaker, sitting in the corner advocating for his sick patient, to be able to craft any self-serving stories. It is not unlawful to take umbrage with being inconvenienced and mistreated. "You cannot take video in here! That is against the law! Turn it off!" Wow. She then called someone and, as she was walking to the back office, informed them that there was a “man here with some elderly woman and he won't leave". (The conversation I was hopelessly trying to have had lasted about 90 seconds at best.) I then helped my client up and gathered her things. As we walked out the door, the woman reappeared. At the request of my client, I told her that I would like to have her name. Her reply: “I bet you would”. Folks - This is not a taco stand...or a hair salon… this is a healthCARE facility. This is an office with a sign on the door that says “Heros Work Here”, right next to the one that touts their “Skilled Professional Staff” and “Prompt, friendly service”. Look at the other reviews on this page. Look a the ones for the other locations. This is not about just one, angry, employee that apparently gave zero care about her job and the people she disserviced today. This is a company that understaffs and undertrains its employees and clearly does not value providing kindness, compassion, and “Prompt, friendly service” over their 2 BILLION (just last year) in profits."
"Waited for 40 minutes (although the sign in the lobby said my wait was 7 minutes). When I checked in I was told they would call me (I was waiting just outside). When I went in to check to find out how much longer it would take I was rudely informed they had texted me (not called) and because I hadn't answered I would have to wait in line again. My phone was turned off. Wasted an afternoon. Once a couple of years ago I was charged for something I later found out was covered by Medicare."
""Get out, I'm not giving you any service!" (Actual quote) Today's visit to the Quest diagnostics Mill Valley location on Reed was quite rediculous. Basically I'm compelled to write a review so that people have a better idea of who is running the show over here. Arrived 10 minutes before closing to check-in and wait while another person was already waiting for something like 15 minutes longer than me. We both sit, having checked in, are we in towards closing? Yes. Are we in the office while are allowed to be in? Also Yes. So after waiting and waiting, the woman, not even me gets up and politely knocks on the door for the staff to acknowledge our presence. Again, fully checked in and waiting in the visitor lobby. The staff in the back just said, 'Oh, we're closing, we're done, you're too late'. I claimed that myself and the other person whose seperate from myself had both checked in lawand they should have came to at least acknowledge us. The women working here did not appreciate being called out for socializing in the back having small talk instead of simply going out to the front at any time to even just see if anyone had checked in... As we both sat for close to 15 minutes or longer , it just appeared as though the staff of two are just completely checked out and have no morale in their jobs. Instead of any customer service what so ever I have to overhear their small talk about what foods they are finding on discount and or for free from an app while we wait 15+ minutes but not even by spoken to. The woman whose name is 'Melissa' stated to me that she did not like my attitude and that she would not speak to me any longer. She then asked for my name- after I gave it to her which she has no business asking me she stated word for word: "my name's Melissa, don't forget it, don't come here for anything". What's obtuse about this is I'm here to receive blood work requiring a sense of urgency and I'm instead given the snarkiness of someone who is not seemingly representing the health care field. I work in the medical world and I find this absolutely unacceptable and a shame for Quest diagnostics. I wanted to arrive earlier, but my work hours don't allow for that and so I would love to have been able to be a earlier walk in, just can't... The staff at this office are both lazy and unprofessional with how they conduct themselves and it's really something that in our current state of climate should not have to go through. Regarding going forward, I'll go to other locations but for those thinking that coming here you are greeted with any sort of kindness or professionalism, understand that what myself and a separate individual waiting to be acknowledged and given assistance was the complete opposite."
