IMAX at AMC Metreon 16

"There are unfortunately serious problems with this IMAX theater. The patches covering the screen shakers are visible (which is quite distracting during brighter scenes) and there is a significant speckle effect (most noticeable during very bright scenes). This particular IMAX requires maintenance and is not offering a proper experience as of March 2024, unfortunately. What a bummer because I have loved other IMAX laser experiences elsewhere in the country!"

"This is one of only 25 theaters in the US showing 70mm IMAX, so it's a shame it's so terribly designed. As others mention: The screen is very close to the seats, and the middle of the screen is at the height of the *back* (highest) row of seats, so the large majority of seats are very low. Everything looks distorted. Furthermore, the seats are straight upright and do not tilt back at all, so your neck hurts just to see the screen. Shockingly bad design."

"Everything was great about the experience except for those ungodly uncomfortable chairs. Obviously you don't want to sit right up front, but even a week out, all the best seats were reserved, so even 8 rows up, smack dab in the middle, had to Crane your neck upwards and back to see the screen. And the chair don't adjust or recline at all. Super painful on my neck. There's really only a few rows of sweet viewing spot and the rest aren't worth it. Unless they bring back reclining chairs."

"If you at all have the opportunity, go see Oppenheimer at this location. Absolutely mindblowingly gorgeous."

"Shut this auditorium down for good… if not switch the distributor company to another reliable who can keep maintenance routinely and functioning properly! For the past three years, this once glorious IMAX auditorium suffers massive projector delays, consisting of blurred/stretched out images, wrong color contrasts, sound systems lagging, and overall never on time to run a smooth system. No matter the minimal visits I endure, including now for the Hunger Games screening, has always consisted of employees alerting the audience the projector is broken, suffering a delay, or handing out complimentary tickets. The employees for this IMAX Auditorium can never properly function a simple task to run a show smoothly. Infuriating and detrimental, let this big boy go out for good with all its unhygienic broken seats and mediocre experience."
