"If you are concerned about your safety, do not stay here! I was traveling alone, checking in for only one night, and at 11:30 pm there was a knock on my door. Before I could even wake up properly, someone proceeded to use a keycard to try and enter my room. I yelled at him that the room was occupied, and he claimed to be from the front desk trying to "see which rooms were available" because "the systems are down". Checking availability by knocking on random doors and trying to open them at 11:30 at night?? Unlikely. To be safe, I stayed in the room and then alerted the staff at the front desk first thing in the morning. She then told me that this was the SECOND time in a week this incident has occurred! I did not feel safe at all and if you are concerned about your safety, do not stay here."

"Okay, I don’t read the reviews before getting here at 11 at night. I reserved ahead of time. Called to ensure we can have a crib in our room as we have 2 under 2. I was told over the phone it wasn’t a problem. Welp, no cribs, they stopped providing them because they were being stolen. Awesome. We noticed the construction, no biggie. Our room is all the way in the back on the 3rd floor. So we plan to bring everything in first and sanitize the room before bringing the kiddos in (toddlers touch everything). My husband takes out 2 biggest bags and goes inside. The air is almost wet on the third floor, like musty gross wet. Okay maybe the AC/heat is being weird because construction. Get to the room, opens the door, there’s clothes on the floor and someone sleeping in there. Alright, the person didn’t even get up. We decide this just isn’t the place for us and go back to the front desk to cancel. I let the front desk know there was someone in our room and we needed a refund, we just were not comfortable staying here, especially without a second crib. She was extremely kind and understanding. She said security was already on their way because this happened in another room. Sooooo people are getting into the rooms and just staying in them. They don’t even know which rooms. The hotel is very run down even without construction. The outdoor and indoor is all very sketchy. We ended up going next door to holiday inn and at that point didn’t care we paid $50 more for a room that was not only clean, had no one in it and just seemed safer in every way with a single point of entry at night. Don’t waste your time or money at this hotel. The stars given were for the ease of refund and cancellation and kindness of the front desk staff."

"This place was wild. I think people live here. When we checked in (the front desk lady was nice) we were warned about the renovations, so we were prepared for how the bottom floor looked. The carpet was gone and that was okay. When we got to the elevator, there was wires hanging above it (cool). And what we weren’t prepared for was the second floor. We got out of the elevator and trash lined the floor. There was actual bathroom trash mixed in with it. (Looked like bloody tissues). There was even a cool razor blade next to my room door! When I went in, the tray table was in the middle of the room, and there was an ironing board and towel on my bed. Didn’t investigate further, went to go check on my friends room which had actually just been used and not cleaned. Pics included for that. When we were leaving there was some people wondering around and someone probably smoking in the stairwell. (Heard a lot of coughing, hope it was just pot.) when we got to the front desk again we had to just cancel our reservation and go stay in a holiday inn which was normal. The front desk lady was nice again and apologized. She said “she’s trying to get ahold of the owners to tell them this is happening.” Honestly the owners should be ashamed for making an employee deal with this and for letting people stay here in these conditions. They need to either close or renovate one floor at a time and not let people stay on the floor that works being done. The pictures I included were natural photos. Nothing had been moved or touched."

"Rooms were dirty. Furniture is broken and dirty. The water temperature randomly fluctuated between cool and scalding. The laundry was out of order when told otherwise. The 24-hour locks, on entrances, had no locks. The carpets hadn't seen a cleaner in quite a while. The hallways, either. Had to request an additional towels, 3 times. Granted their doing a remodel on the 1st floor, great. However, making a disabled persons life harder by blocking exits isn't cool. I don't think it's staff, it's likely managementt. This place isn't worth the $96 a night, and if I could have found a different room, I would have."

"This was the halfway point between my home and final destination, and it was right off the 5, so location was ideal. Redding's a decent town not lacking a variety of food options. HOWEVER, this is a bare-bones hotel. This is a place to rest before heading out on the road. The hotel is old, the walls are thin, and the carpet is dirty. There is like a closet of random gym equipment, but it's not really a fitness center that works in a pinch. This hotel is dog-friendly which is great, and I felt it was pretty safe overall. I wish it was a little nicer, but it's affordable, so I can't really complain."
