"Loved this historic home and its location. Every room has a bathroom. Some of the rooms only have a tub but it wasn't a big deal. NO common toilet, so if you have someone stop by, they have to use someone's private space. There was a serious ant infestation. Ants were in every room, bathrooms, in the dishes, on every surface in the kitchen and walls. They were everywhere - not exaggerating, it was a serious problem. We cleaned constantly but nothing we did seemed to help, they constantly poured in. We were told its because it was cold outside and in a rural area... nice try. I've live a rural most of my life. My recommendation would be to hire a pest control service. I would give a 5 star if it weren't for the ant infestation."
"We loved our stay at Weller House Inn. Our room had soft white linens and an antique iron bed and comfortable antique furnishings, including a claw footed tub. So quiet and cool, we slept so well in this room. Continental breakfast with fresh baked local breads and delicious hot coffee was beautifully served...lovely fresh squeezed juice and local stone fruit were such a treat. And glorious roses, camellias and nasturtiums plucked from the garden adorn every table. Innkeeper Vivian has created a truly lovely environment. We look forward to coming back to this wonderful slice of heaven in Mendocino."
"Our stay at the Weller House was very pleasant. The rooms are lovely, clean, and comfortable. Each room has character and we got to try 2 of the rooms. Our stay and experience was enhanced when there was swing dancing at the ballroom. There was live jazz music at one night of our stay and we enjoyed dancing with the locals. The location is also good being close to downtown where we walked to shops and restaurants. The place is also walking distance to glass beach. We would definitely stay at the Weller house again."
"I've loved every bit of my stay at the Weller House Inn! The Victorian architecture is gorgeous and took me back it time. I felt like a Jane Austen's character for a night, staying in the Lily room. Furniture is beautiful, luxurious and gives a cosy atmosphere to the place. The bathroom is just amazing! I enjoyed a pink and purple sunset by the beach near by and then tried some swing dance in the ballroom of the Weller House. It's all made of redwood and they have dance practice there every week! The owner, Vivien, is very kind and her french is perfect. It was really nice to learn about the history of the house. The Weller House is the perfect place to read a book, enjoy a nice cup of coffee and some local bakery bread in the morning, and just relax. I hope to come again soon !"
"Pros Fantastic location close to restaurants, cafes, 5 min walk to sea glass beach. House is adorable with period details intact, original wood beautifully preserved, definitely a nod back to its' glory days. Common dining room is so pretty and has the original stove! There's a gorgeous garden in which to relax too. Our room was super clean and very spacious. Beds were very comfortable with lovely bedding. We had a south facing garden room, so it was very bright. Room was big enough that it had a seating area in the corner by the windows, bonus. I love clawfoot tubs and bathroom had a gorgeous one. Disappointment was finding soap dispenser with watery soap. You know when you're out of soap, so you fill it with water to get more use? That's what we had. Cons No thought to customer service. There's no basics like water or beverages. We were told to use water from the bathroom (we bought bottled water, which I hate). There was a sad few bags of black tea- owner did offer to buy some more later in the day but that defeats the purpose of morning tea. I told her not to bother. Breakfast is additional $15 per person. During a casual conversation with the owner, I asked if anyone took her up on breakfast and she said, "yes, few people did but I forgot to tell my staff. Oh well". Like I said, no customer service. Overall, our experience was great - very relaxing out of the craziness of SF. You will certainly enjoy your stay, just know not to expect too much other than a bed!"
