"The Spyglass Inn is a lovely place! With only a few quiet rooms, and tucked into the foggy, remote Shelter Cove, it really does feel like a getaway far away from the rest of the world. IMPORTANT: Even if you make an advance reservation, make sure to call ahead the afternoon of your arrival to let the innkeeper know you are coming! The innkeeper is extremely friendly and we enjoyed talking to him, but it's good to call ahead. Our rooms were very clean and pleasant, with stunning ocean views as the fog rolls away. The ocean decor was not overbearing. There's a full kitchen with pots and pans, which is nice, since it is hard to find breakfast options nearby (there are more restaurants open for lunch and dinner). The coffee in the room was exceptionally tasty. The gas fireplace added just the right amount of cozy, and the bed and bedding were extremely comfortable. The overall experience was very close to picture-perfect. You could open the window at night and sleep to the sound of the waves on the coast. And most exciting of all, I was able to fulfill my lifelong dream of taking a bath in a bathtub with a beautiful view! 10/10 would recommend."

The apartment was so comfortable that one could spend there whole stay inside, but being so close to the Black Sand's, and so much more of the state's natural wonders is what truly made it the greatest trip we have been on. "I had a wonderful opportunity to stay with Richard and Margaret this Feb in 2017 with my sibling Alex as I was travelling to Shelter Cove. I stayed at the Spyglass inn in the Dolphin Room. The room was fabulous. The hosts were fantastic folks. I forgot to bring my slippers and the tiled floor was cold. Margaret immediately let me us her brand new slippers and socks I was so thrilled and warm. I was also able to use their gas stove and fry some fresh Cajun fish that I brought from the store. It was a wonderful, memorable experience for me with such lasting memories. I will be returning to stay there again given the opportunity."
