"Just visited this shop for the 1st time and wow, what a great place! Was looking for boots and a pack for a Western hunt later this year, and Kyle took time to answer all of my questions and provide a ton of information based on his experiences with similar hunts. The staff has a great knowledge base and awesome products in stock that are rather hard to find in the Midwest. Definitely worth a visit, and I will be returning!"

"My boyfriend Sam and I came in to get him fitted for a new bow. He explained to the salesman, Tyler his price range (about $500) and then he brought us over to their limited selection. Tyler was upfront and told Sam that there wasn’t much for under $1,000 which was fine and he explained differences etc. However, he seemed like he wasn’t very interested in selling anything that wasn’t top of the line. Sam shot a couple different bows and picked out his bow and Tyler walked away to adjust it. We waited as he was adjusting and then Sam shot the bow after it was adjusted and Tyler was very helpful to him and made great suggestions for him. Tyler went back and adjusted the draw length and Sam was trying to ask him questions about the different rests and he kind of shrugged him off and didn’t say much or give much information of the differences. Not really sure if he just didn’t know, but it definitely seemed like he just wanted to rush us out and not help. Sam ended up making the purchase and got everything else he wanted. We headed to a different shop/range to get a case due to the limited options Whale Tales had (not a big deal, they just didn’t have what Sam was looking for). Sam found a case and ended up finding a rest at the new shop that he liked. He was also looking at different quivers and has one picked out and was going to have them put that on as well. They were starting the process of mounting the rest and the woman noticed it had a bracket for a quiver and said that the bow should have came with one. Sam called Whale Tales and they said “oh yeah we set it aside and have it here for you we forgot to give it to you.” Sam and I were very disappointed that he spent about $600 there for them to forget something and not even call him to let him know that they forgot to give it to him. Not only that he was looking at different quivers in the store and asking Tyler about them as well. Not only that, after the other place was putting on the rest, the noticed that the timing of the cams were completely off.. The whole experience wasn’t terrible but it did sort of leave a bad taste in our mouths being shrugged off and them completely forgetting a component of the bow without a courtesy call and that the timing of the cams were off."

"Called Whale-Tales to see if I could come in to get two Hoyt bows tuned. I had the pleasure of working with Nick. Nick had my two bows tuned, peep sights corrected, and timing checked in well under an hour. I was able to shoot both bows through paper to verify the tune. I was very impressed with Nick...he answered all my questions, and was extremely personable and friendly while doing so. I have to admit, I felt a bit odd asking for help since I didn't purchase the bows from Whale-Tales. However, seeing how friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable the staff were, they have earned my trust and future business...I definitely will be making my future purchases from Whale-Tales. "Whales Tales is an awesome place. I traveled from North Carolina to visit my family and learned of Whales Tales. My father had purchased a bow earlier a shared what a great experience he had.
