"Be careful when ordering for takeout! The food is always wonderful. However, they put all orders in the same containers so you don’t know whose is whose. Not good if there are food allergies like celiac and need gluten free. Regular roll was out next to one with tempura. All other restaurants put each order in a separate container OR they label so you know. Not at Edo.. And the time to receive your order is very long. Was supposed to take 35 minutes. We waited OVER an hour for ours. Be prepared. This is not the first time. We gave a second chance and tried again but no different. We will not be returning."
"This was one of the most ridiculous experiences I have ever had. We had a reservation for 8 on Christmas Eve. Got there and got seated right away. The restaurant is very old and outdated. It also feels cramp in the dining hibachi room. The chairs are also not comfortable. The hibachi cook which was the owner, was finishing another group before coming to us and thanks to our server that was all kinds of lost, he had time to finish and take a long break. Now our server did perform a show for us. Took her 15 min to get the drinks which included 2 sodas, 1 glass of wine, 1 cocktails and 1 bottle of sake. Then when she took our food order and wrote it down, she came back 2 times to asks us what she wrote down and it was hilarious. She spilled our drinks, our soups. She forgot our appetizers and rice and our dipping sauces. She dropped ketchup on the floor too and was an overall mess. While all of this was happening, every time she would make a comment saying “I suck” “I am bad at this” “I forgot again” etc. the owner gave her multiple looks while he was cooking our hibachi. I think the food was ok. Salad was fresh, steak was juicy and steamed rice was good. Sushi was well made. That being said, all the fish items smelled very fishy even after being cooked like the hibachi shrimp, lobster, salmon. Luckily we didn’t have any stomach issues. Our server and the hostess had a very hard time splitting our bills and they mixed stuff up multiple times before getting it right. It was an overall messy experience."
"The White Snow roll was PHENOMENAL ⭐️ (shrimp tempura, cucumber, cream cheese and crab meat on top) The clear soup is pretty good but a little plain compared other places, but other than that the sushi was to die for. I really enjoyed the private booth that I sat in which had a privacy curtain! That alone was worth the trip. It’s nice to sit and kinda close yourself out from the rest of the restaurant while you’re on a date. lol"
"This place is a joke and I’m not laughing. I feel genuinely scammed after eating here. We had a party of 9 for a birthday party and got our own room. Granted we arrived about 15 minutes early, but it took an hour for the sushi to arrive and for them to start cooking the hibachi. The hibachi by the way does not include fried rice. They charge you extra for the smallest amount of fried rice you have ever seen. Each of four people in our group that ordered hibachi received a measly cup worth of fried rice. I had an equal amount of chicken as I did fried rice. My meal, including a soda and side of white rice, was $40. I not only finished my plate, which is something I’ve never done at another hibachi restaurant, but my wife and I left hungry after paying $70 for the both of us. I asked why they charged us both an extra $3.50 for fried rice on a $28 meal and they said it wasn’t included in the hibachi. If we weren’t there for a child’s birthday I would have had some very choice words for what I thought of that. Do not eat here. We only did because Fuji, which is MUCH better didn’t take reservations. This was on top of orders getting mixed up, sodas tasting completely different between glasses, having to ask for things that we order/never received, the soup was disgusting, the salad had standing water in the bottom, and this place has the atmosphere of a cheap Chinese take out place. Please eat anywhere else!"
"Pretty disappointed, we came in on a Friday night. Literally no one was here. Our food came at an appropriate timeframe. Except for my mother's food, she brought us the wrong food. Actually, the chef made the wrong food. The waiter seemed like she was new because she knew nothing on the menu. She never refilled my water and she came to our table multiple times. My mom had to split her water into mine. If she's new that's fine, but if she's not..... The food wasn't to sushi standards (or at least the rolls that I had). What I had was the spicy crunchy scallop roll. Didn't taste the scallops at all, and when I picked One (because there was only like one or two pieces in it) it just tasted like the spicy mayo sauce. The crazy white monkey had some delicious looking ingredients in it, but it tasted just like the crunchy scallop roll. Definitely not worth the $18. In a sushi roll, you should be able to taste the seafood that you paid for, I didn't taste anything besides the rice and the deep fried soy paper that held it together. I will say though, I also had the Dynasty roll, and that one is way better and is cheaper than the crazy white monkey roll. Because I was able to taste the squid, the fish, and everything else. That was worth the 12 or so dollars. My little brother ordered a spicy salmon roll. And honestly, it tasted just like the scallop roll. He did order their soft shell crab appetizer and that wasn't too bad. Then the sashimi came to the table and that was a huge disappointment and was waay too overpriced. For the sashimi appetizer, it came with salmon, tuna and red snapper (idk what that last one was, I'm only guessing, it tasted like red snapper though). The portion size for those were very disappointing and honestly I felt ripped off. The usual portion size for sashimi is usually about the size of two or three fingers. What we were served, they were only about the size of the nail on my thumb. Not only that, the taste was not fresh. We didn't taste anything from the salmon which usually has a soft sweet taste to it. This salmon tasted like nothing, which is a sign of it being frozen. The same was true for the other fish. Nothing, my tuna piece had some ginger stuck to the underside of it. But I didn't taste much of the usually delicious fish. He also ordered some fatty salmon as well and it comes with a total of three. These slices are a joke too. For almost 9 bucks, we got three slices of "fatty" salmon that was as big as those small pretzel sticks you can get at a gas station. Really really small portion size. I wouldn't complain so much about it if the sashimi was actually fresh. It tasted just like the other salmon did. No difference. Then it came to my Mother. I was actually getting angry at this point because she was served last. And hers was the easiest to make, she had the Udon. That's it. It came with salad so she didn't order an appetizer. Once her food got to the table, it wasn't even what she ordered, she also didn't receive her salad too. We got the waitress's attention and told her that we didn't order whatever that was, we also told her that my Mother didn't receive her salad yet. She apologizes and takes the food back. About 3 minutes later, she returns with a salad and says that the "chef" made her the wrong food. I don't know how that happened because they've been making the same food for hopefully a few years. But maybe everyone there is new. The salad was pretty good, however at this point i was just trying to get a flavor of some sort that's not the spicy mayo sauce. Her Udon finally arrived and I stole a fish cake. It tasted odd. It didn't taste like fish, at all. Then the broth, it tasted a little bit like chicken which was nice, but it had a tap water aftertaste. It tasted like the water from the water fountain at school. Perhaps it was the weird combination of seafood and chicken that threw my taste buds off. I hope that they aren't cross-contaminating anything back there. There was chicken, fish cakes and shrimp and one poached egg on top. Don't make it complicated and confusing."
