"It's a bar, so have realistic expectations. I've been here before but it's been a few years. The burgers were good, but nothing spectacular. They ran out of fish for Friday night fish fry. This was during lent and we dined around 8pm so it was no real surprise and wasn't a deal breaker. Service was great. The server was very attentive and apologized for the lack of fish fry. She gave my friend a nice discount on the regular cod meal so he was more than satisfied. Atmosphere is basically standard bar. It wasn't too loud and not super busy when we were there. Overall a good experience and I would go back."

"Excellent place if you wanna accidentally run into drug cartel members and get scared out of your wits otherwise I’d avoid this place when the sun goes down. You have high-quality security though unfortunately I don’t trust other people to keep me safe. Go to the one Mexican dude from California that was willing to give me a ride until I fled from him to get an Uber."

"Monkeyshines is a local bar that has been around forever. Typical local bar with pool tables, dart boards, and sand volleyball. Their menu is awesome. I've eaten lunch here several and have never been disappointed. Their dayly specials are always a lot of good food. Today, we got the meat loaf with Bacon onion gravy (want that recipe!) and jalepeno cheddar cornbread. It was delicious, and more than I could eat. My friends got the chili and the chicken stew, and they were both awesome. The other special looked amazing, smoked chicken mac-n-cheese quesadilla. Try this place!"

"Ok, owner of this place. This was our first time here, and you’re getting a split review. We came here to watch a Badger game. Lots of TVs and a great space. Then we encountered the server/bartender with short dark hair. She claimed she couldn’t turn the sound on for the TVs outside of the bar area, so we spent the entire first half not hearing the game. We were sitting near the pool table, near three TVs. With effort, we were able to get her to stop at our table with just enough time to get one item ordered; she didn’t take that one second more to catch the additional beer or food order - it was like we were an inconvenience. Then half time hit, and the next shift came in. What a difference!!! More customers to serve, but these ladies handled all of it and with efficiency and great customer service. Orders were placed, the TVs all of a sudden “found” speakers so we could actually hear the game, and we were treated so well. I get that it’s difficult to get good help these days, but maybe longevity shouldn’t compromise service."

"I can't overstate how good the food is here. Easily one of the best restaurants in 50 miles! I ordered the salmon cake special and the presentation, flavor, and texture were perfect. Please give this spot a try!"
