Playground Premium Auto Recycling

"I bought two seats (front driver and front passenger) from Playgrounds Parts for my 2007 Mercedes vehicle. I provided the VIN# and other information to make sure that the seats were compatible, and Playground parts assured me they were compatible. The seats I purchased from Playground Parts were not compatible because my existing seats had a passenger side airbag occupancy sensor and the seats Playground Parts sold me did not. When I made this problem known to Playground Parts, they suggested that I "code out" the existence of the passenger side airbag by contacting either a Mercedes dealer or independent repair shop with the required software programming tools that could do that. When I looked into that I found out no Mercedes dealer or other repair shop was willing to "code out" anything related to the airbag restraint system because it's against FMVSS standards and would subject them to liability if there was an accident involving injury or death. I was left with no other option than to purchase another set of seats that were compatible with my car from Nationwide Auto Recycling, Inc. in Lancaster, MA (highly recommend them) and return the seats Playground Parts sold me. When I informed Playground Parts of my intent to return the incompatible seats they sold me and I asked them to pay for the shipping because of their mistake they refused to do so. So, if you are interested in buying wrong/incompatible parts from this company and are willing to do dangerous and unethical things they suggest to make them compatible and then find out that can't be done and be forced to pay shipping when you return the parts then I guess this is the company for you. (Sidenote: when I purchased the incompatible seats from Playground Parts they did not come with seat modules and Playground Parts wanted to charge me an extra $80 a piece for the driver and passenger seat modules; whereas I bought the compatible seats from Nationwide Auto Recycling, Inc. for less money and those seats did come with the seat modules at no extra charge). Do not recommend Playground Parts for the above reasons."

"Lou Andreev purchased a Jaguar XJ “working “ engine and when I installed it some of the cylinders had no compression- they sent me a defective engine and when I returned it they refused to pay for the shipping back. Cost me over a$1000 to install and remove it, you think at least they will say we are sorry. Bad business stay away."

"I ordered a front axle for a BMW E60 530xi. The part arrived and the universal joint was seized and the part is not useable and worthless. I promptly called left a message with playground auto recyclers to notify them of the issue and start the return process. I found out that the part came from a donor vehicle with 210,000 miles. I was also informed that I could return the part but I wouldn’t get a full refund. Marissa, the customer service rep explained that the part left their facility in working condition. She also let me know that it cost Playground Auto recyclers money to pull the part off the car and ship it to me so therefore I need to be charged something. I find it difficult to accept that I should be charged anything for their decision to send out a bad part off a car with almost 1/4 million miles. I am waiting to see if Playground Auto Recyclers does the right thing and refunds me the full amount. If they do I will make an amendment to my review but for now I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with the way my transaction has been handled. If I were able to see the part in person before it was purchased, I would have refused it. Since I trusted the vendor’s description on eBay, I am forced to pay for a worthless part that is worthy of only a dumpster. So moving forward be careful when dealing with Playground Premium Auto Recyclers, literally your miles may vary! I did ask to speak to the owner and he/she is conveniently on vacation. We’ll see if I ever get a response. I am taking the time to go into detail so the next customer doesn’t suffer the same fate as me."
