"Highly recommend!! During a road trip, our visit to Sumac became one of the highlights of the entire journey. I really enjoyed the meal. I highly recommend the meatball wrap and the meze flight. The mezes were just amazing. Worth trying, specifically Hummus, Baba Ganoush and Muhammara, definitely a real Mediterranean experience. The banana pudding is a must-try delight. Super kind staff, clean and great service. Thumbs up!"
"Absolutely delighted by my dining experience at this Mediterranean gem in San Francisco! The falafel wrap was beyond delicious, and knowing that the meat is halal added to my satisfaction. The banana pudding was a delightful surprise and easily one of the best I've ever had. Visited with friends, and we were all amazed by the fantastic flavors. Highly recommend this place for an authentic and satisfying Mediterranean culinary journey. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming!"
"First time at Sumac and I was so impressed the food was amazing! The owner was so nice and generous. We were not familiar with the food and she gave us samples and spent time explaining what it was and how it was made etc. we got the falafel wrap, lentil balls with rice and tabouli and the red bell pepper dip(I can’t remember the name). Everything was amazing! The owner even threw in bread pudding for free and it was so incredibly good probably the best I ever had! Can’t wait to go again! This is a pick up and go place no seating to eat. They are very efficient and fast we didn’t order ahead of time but it didn’t take long at all to get our food and they were very busy! Thank you for a wonderful Valentine’s Dinner you did not disappoint!"
"One of the best smells in the city is walking past this small to-go shop. The kofte bowl comes with five meatballs, rice and a delightful chickpea side dish. I really enjoy the collard soup from “soupchu”, the sister restaurant living in the same place. Their variety of dips and sauces (hummus, cacik, muhammara) are quite flavorful, ranging from creamy to sweet and sharp. The prices are as steep as the hill the restaurant is on top of, though they aren’t unheard of in this area. The issue with this place is that they regularly forget stuff or don’t communicate when they run out of things. One time, we ordered (paid for) extra pink sauce and it didn’t come in the stapled bag. Another time, they didn’t include utensils like they usually do. Last time, they didn’t give us the acme bread that came with our soups. Hope they iron that out at some point."
"Man this place is as good as it's rubbery meatballs. It's not that bad, but my god the serving sizes make no sense. I finished all the meat and just had a giant bowl of chickpeas and rice left... it was so dry I couldn't finish it. The wrap was better but for $19 I've had better food at McDonald's."
