"I kind of hate to do this, as I’ve purchased items in the past, but feel it’s necessary. Some days are better selections than others, and I really only frequent a few times a year when driving through. The last time I was working from home and my Internet went down so I decided to work at the coffee shop down the street take a break and come in to see what they had. I wasn’t dressed particularly well, but the women working there, hounded me and was very rude and I could tell it was profiling due to my disheveled yet publicly acceptable appearance. I picked an item off the rack outside after putting a bunch of stuff on it that was on the ground due to wind (you’re welcome) and just simply wasn’t interested after checking it out in the mirror. The worker stared the whole time. She also was snooty. I’m sorry, it’s a second hand store. There’s nothing to be snooty about. Not all the items, in fact a majority of the items are not high end by any means. I hope she realized when I walked to my Porsche I wasn’t the scum of the earth who wasn’t interested in a used dress? Completely uncomfortable to browse here lately."
"They accepted all my goods - three pair of Like New higher end winter boots and two designer perfumes that had been sprayed less than five times each and gave me 44$. Wasn’t even worth my time. Also, the attitude of the staff in Mequon was very haughty. Overall an unnecessary endeavor."
"Fifth-Main is the BEST resale shop for women’s clothing in the entire metro area! They also have a few nice men’s items as well. I visited the Thiensville location today and had a wonderful experience. The customer service was top-notch. Carrie helped me select clothing and gave me her honest feedback. She was so professional and a positive, friendly person to every customer in the shop. I walked out with an armful of deals and cannot wait to try my new clothes!"
"I found a cute purse that I just had to have, my assumption was that the shoulder strap was in the dust bag inside. It was not. This was discovered while still standing at the checkout and the girl still had my card. I told her that I no longer wanted the purse as it was not complete. I was told that the transaction had already gone through and couldn't be reversed. They would not accept a return, I asked for a manager and was told the same thing. Absolutely atrocious behavior for a business; I hadn't left and returned I was literally still standing there and hadn't even received my credit card back yet."
"My wife, and I have been coming to E Collectique/Fifth-Main for years, even bought gift cards online during COVID (when they were closed) to support them. WE WILL NEVER shop, or supply clothing here again. After being told to “go get bags from Sendiks” bc apparently the cloth bags I brought in were too large (I guess) they treated me like I was an inconvenience instead of a customer who’s spent, and recycled thousands and thousands of dollars in clothing. After asking for the manager/owner, or someone who could think outside the box/come up with a solution instead of turning away thousands of dollars in merchandise (there was no cash option at this time, so literally just bringing $ into the store for credit… when basically I could donate it and receive more in tax credit), I was told there was NO OWNER, and they wouldnt give me a name bc it’s an LLC…. Bc I’m a man, I was told my frustration made the employee (who thought the best solution to the problem was to send me to Sendik’s) uncomfortable… TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SVC.. There’s most definitely an owner, I tried reaching out to another location (spoke w/mgr at the location 174 Main St) and was again told she wouldn’t give a name… Tried to reach the owner before posting this, and asking everyone I’ve sent there to find another place… Carley was at least slightly helpful by offering to simply tape the tops of the baskets so things wouldn’t fall out. Obviously I decided not to support the store any further, and took my things back instead. Hopefully the owner (Mikelle?) sees this, and explains to her staff the diff between an LLC and a Corporation… And why someone in this situation would ask to speak w her.."
