"For things in my house, I want to buy it for life. I wanted to buy a custom extra long desk for me and my wife to share, and I knew I needed a carpenter/woodworker for that. The choices in Los Angeles are not abundant, and I went to a few places before Parkman that didn't seem to care about my particular needs or vision. When I contacted Parkman, I knew that I found the right team to handle the project. It was such a simple concept. I wanted to provide the XL standing desk hardware, and have a woodworker fabricate a beautiful table top to install with it. I didn't want to purchase the standard mass manufactured engineered surfaces that would just deteriorate with time. I didn't want to deal with replacing things every few years anymore. Graham at Parkman understood perfectly. He also understood just how particular I was about materials. I scheduled and visited the shop in person, and we discussed my visions for materials, finish, and aesthetics. Graham showed me what kind of materials they had on hand, the finished pieces they had representing the variety of use cases for them, and exactly what kind of aesthetics they could provide. He walked me through the process of how they work with local sources to procure reclaimed, naturally fallen, California native woods. We discussed what wood tones and grain structures I would like to use, and Graham gave me clear expectations of how long it would take to find the perfect slabs to match my requests. In the end, I wanted to go with light to medium toned -with purple accents- naturally fallen sycamore woods, and I especially wanted as many edge grained medullary rays as I could get in the boards, because it is such a beautiful texture to look at. We also collaborated to define the ideal dimensions for the surface and accents needed for the project. Graham took detailed notes the whole way through. He gave me my estimate, which I believed more than fair for the job, and he even negotiated the project lead time with me to fit with my expectations. I ordered my standing desk hardware directly to the shop. Over the next 6 weeks, we were routinely in contact to discuss details ranging from the wood shipments they received to review if it matched my expectations, to more particular changes of heart I had about how to do the finishings on the table. Through the entire process, Graham was very accommodating and willing to work with me as my ideas changed. I made the final decisions on everything, down to the exact wood slabs used for the table, and how they were matched. After everything was set and final, his crew did the full assembly and installation of desk and hardware, and they hand delivered it straight to my home, where it sits now. The standing desk manufacturer even failed to supply some of my requested extras, and Parkman personally got in contact with the company and handled the RMAs to receive it and install before my scheduled delivery. I didn't have to deal with the customer service side at all, and they weren't even the original purchasers of the hardware, they just wanted to provide excellent services as intended, with no hassle. The desk is beautiful. It is exactly as I wanted it. It will last forever. I never would have gotten the vision in my head brought into reality without Parkman, and honestly, my original vision wasn't even as good as this final product turned out to be. It only became this perfect because of the collaboration and effort of the team at Parkman, especially Graham. Thank you so much for this, and I will definitely be returning for more BUY IT FOR LIFE projects with your team in the very near future. If you are reading this and had doubts about working with Parkman, let this be the final note that helps you make the decision to do so. You won't be disappointed. Sincerely, Zach, An Extremely Satisfied Client"
"We needed 2 coffee tables with very detailed size and style specifications. Graham worked with us to design tables that were perfect for our space and needs. They even used the type of wood and stain we requested to match our cabinets. The tables are solid and meticulously made. They are gorgeous and such high quality. Highly recommend."
"Obsessed with my new table! I had a great experience working with Graham, and I have already gotten so many compliments on the table. We went with naturally fallen elm to seat 10 people. The quality is exceptional, delivery was easy. I'm in love!"

"We were looking for a custom-sized live-edge bar table to act as a centerpiece in our condo. Jonathan and Graham understood exactly what we wanted and designed a modern/industrial/rustic piece, made from naturally-fallen local sycamore trees, which ties everything together in our “treehouse”. We’re thrilled with the final product; the attention to detail and quality of workmanship speaks for itself. The table both anchors and levitates in the space, and we’ve already enjoyed drinks with friends, hummingbird-watching, and coffee breaks at the table while working from home. Highly recommend Parkman Woodworks if you want a gorgeous, unique piece of furniture that will wow your guests for years to come!"
