"Prices have gone way up in recent months - it’s now possible to get many of the same items new for the same price. Also, the owner used to be very friendly & helpful when I would come in with my partner. We would look forward to having a little chat with him when we’d come in. However, the tone and vibe in the shop has totally changed recently - he now only scowls or ignores us. Can’t help but wonder if we are being profiled / discriminated in some way for being different. The change in behavior has correlated with an increase of far-right messaging around the shop. Used to feel like a comfy, friendly spot for all - maybe no longer the case for queer & other marginalized community members."
