"I gotta tell ya folks NAPA let me down this time. I’m working on my Ford diesel desperately needing an EGR valve housing. I called the Manchester IA store. I gave the fellow all the engine particulars and explained the quagmire I’m having finding the housing. The fellow tells me 1). He has the valve and housing cheaper than the housing itself, 2). He doesn’t have it at his location however it’ll be there tomorrow morning by 9am. I questioned the fact that the EGR valve and housing come together? He replied “YES!” My Hero! I drove the 45 minutes to the store only to find the lad had only ordered the EGR valve NOT THE HOUSING I DESPERATELY NEEDED! The housing isn’t available! My hero is a ZERO! I’ve been a mechanic for over 50 years, this isn’t my first rodeo! I’m well aware how important being and giving accurate information and descriptions of what you need when ordering parts. I don’t know the rhyme or reason as to why this happened especially since I reiterated what I needed and the valve housing come as a combination! Ya can do one hundred things right and one thing wrong in life. What do you suppose everyone remembers, yup the one thing wrong! Sorry NAPA, this one hurt!"
