"Stopped in because of the good reviews on the place and food. Found a spot at the bar large enough for our group of 6. Bartender came by fairly quick to get our drink order and we asked for menus. After 10 minutes of looking over the menu and talking I told the bartender that we were ready to order. The response we got back surprised me. “I will take your order on my time, I am the only one here and when I’m ready I will take your orders.” Then she proceeded to make some drinks for the other side of the bar. It was at that point we decided that we would go somewhere else to eat. The bartender did come back before we finished our drinks about 10 minutes and said she could take our order. We politely declined and finished up our drinks and left. Place was nice with plenty of places to sit and room for people to shoot pool. A Saturday at noon and only one person working, I see her frustration. Instead of being like that to customers talk to the manager or owners."

"I was new to The Hogg Pen and was greeted by the owner and she spent some time chatting with me. She helped me feel welcomed and comfortable. The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was excellent!!! I would highly recommend The Hogg Pen to anyone!!"

"They have a good Burger. I just had a regular.They have good burgers, I. I just had a regular cheeseburger, but next time I'm going back. I'm going for the 2 pound Burger. Although the burgers don't come with fries, that's extra, but they have to make some money. Somehow it's a small bar"

"Was on my way home, first time at this place. It was pouring out, and I had been on the kayak and was soaking wet when I called in an order for pickup. Bartender, super nice lady. Even offered me a towel to dry off with. The surroundings looked like a super fun bar. TVs in some booths playing the football game. Up to date bar slot entertainment games. Was busy in there with a diverse group, and everyone seemed to be having a good time :) The food was really good, especially the burger(according to my husband who inhaled it). I had the Steak Philly. Food didn't take long to get, and she put napkins, and we were really satisfied. If I lived closer, I'd definitely go back."

"Went here to catch a Badgers game. Plenty of screens and even some tables with their own screen ( see pic - our table had a screen) but we couldn’t control the sound or captioning. Saw other reviews with incidents involving POC but my non-white partner was treated fairly. Fun thing is their 4 in 20 eating challenge. 2 lb burger + 2 lb fries eat it all in 20 minutes and it’s free. See pic. Lotsa big burgers, like 1 lb, but they tend to overcook (burn) the burgers. I always ask for “No Burnt Parts”. About 10 taps. Lotsa trendy flavored beers and ales but lack of Pilsners. Beer was cold n nice price. They do have spotted cow ( see pic). Server admittedly knew nothing about their beers. They could open Word n make a little handout with highlights of each one. There is a popcorn machine."
