"My son has been taking classes here since they opened and I can’t say enough good things. I’ve definitely seen their systems and teachings improve over time and the coaches are fantastic. We really value the confidence building and team work aspect of the program along with all the fun and activity. We are a homeschooling family and if they were a vendor with our school we’d probably stick around for as long as possible. My only complaint is that it is a bit pricey but I also understand why. I tell everyone about KidStrong and highly encourage you to try it!"
"I brought my son for a trial class in the 4 year old group. There were some things I loved, and some things I didn't. The coaches were fantastic! They deserve 6/5 stars! I was so impressed with their gentle encouragement, their positive and fun engagement, and their attention they gave each child. The circuits were very fun and very age appropriate, challenging but doable for a 4 year old (even a new one). I like the way they try to positively condition the kids' minds with their motto "I am strong, I am brave, I can do this." Now to the things I was not impressed by. First of all, woah, the class went from one thing to another at a speed that was making me dizzy just watching. It was 5 minutes of this, now 5 minutes of that, now come over here, now go over there. They went from an obstacle course to a game and back to an obstacle course in like 10 or 15 minutes. It was way too much switching activities, which was causing confusion and sensory overload. Next, I would have liked to hear less "good job, perfect, awesome" and more "you made it all the way across, wow you jumped with 2 feet this time, look how you completed the whole course". Being specific helps kids know what they did right and is positive and encouraging at the same time. But of course with switching activities every 5 minutes I can see why the coaches didn't have time to give kids helpful and encouraging praise... Lastly, and the reason I will never sign my kids up, is the television... I can see how the television is a useful tool for the coaches, it had a timer to keep them on track and showed how to set up each obstacle course. However, it brought on many problems. It was very distracting to the students, they were missing instructions and even not hearing their names being called repeatedly because they couldn't pull their eyes away from the ever-moving screen. Then the weirdest part was when they were rushing back to it in between obstacle courses to... learn shapes??? First of all I thought we were here for exercising in a fun environment, why are they trying to mix academics in? On top of that, why are they teaching circles and squares to 4 year olds??? That threw me for a loop, and also my son, who looked back it me with a hilariously confused look on his face. I was also annoyed with their "giving back to others" chant they made the kids repeat. I absolutely believe in giving back to others, but their philosophy of "let us know when you doante so we can reward you and praise you for it," completely missed the point of giving to those in need... While this facility slightly misses the mark on a lot of things, it comes pretty close compared to other programs I've seen. But confidence comes from competence, learning resilience, and having internal motivation. Giving is about who needs the receiving, not about getting something out of it. And screens reduce attention span, retention, motivation, impulse control, and cognitive abilities in children's brains. If it was not for the television time and the over packed class time schedule, I would have signed my son up for it's creative obstacle courses, fun games, and awesome coaches."
"This place is awesome! The environment is very welcoming and the coaches always have good energy. They teach the kids to be respectful, give them a push when they need to, and are always very encouraging. I like how teamwork is always implemented too. Our kids get a great workout and their confidence has improved as well. They love going every week! I highly recommend KidStrong Rocklin!"
"My 18-month son attended his third class today, the atmosphere is positively infectious! Great place for your kid to learn and grow. The equipment and center is clean and organized! I’d recommend to anyone looking for a kid friendly activity. Positive mental attitudes here!"
"My daughter loves lessons, she were asking whole week about the lessons. Stuff is very nice, friendly and polite, great program for kids. Coaches are very energetic and positive."
