Reviews of Super One Foods
"Feels like their buyers like to shop in the dumpster for what other stores are throwing out. Check expirations, skip fruit and veg, and forget the bakery."
"Due to the lack of competition, this place is great by default. Pricing seems fair, employees can be helpful, selection is good enough. East Superior has a liquor store and bar."
"Bakery has gone way down hill, less selection and muffins are always soggy and slimy. Cashier that has the greyish black hair makes up for the muffins. She is always friendly and good to me and my family"
"Now that COVID19 (19 means 2019) is over, will Super One please open a 24 hour store in Superior?"
"This is the grocery store I’ve preferred since moving to Superior two years ago. However, today I had a VERY bad experience that hopefully no one else will! I will start by saying this store does have a nice selection of items and most staff is friendly. But I can only give this store 2 stars after today. Let me preface this by saying I understand everyone has a job to do, but this situation left me feeling very upset because it was handled unprofessionally. While in the store today I purchased just a few things. Before walking out of the store I was stopped by security/the loss prevention person. He showed me a badge then asked to speak with me which I said ok to. Following this he says to me all I need is for you to hand over the cat or dog toy you took. I then stated I bought a can of dog food but did not steal anything you are free to check my purse. He then led me to his office to show me the surveillance from the video cameras. After several minutes of him checking the store footage I was located coming down the pet aisle on the side where the food is kept. On the video I was seen looking at the options then fairly quickly putting one can of dog food into my cart and walking off to continue my shopping. He apologized after he realized I in fact DID NOT steal anything and I left. About an hour later feeling sick to my stomach I called the store and asked to speak with the manager. She stated this is her, so I explained I am a customer and had a bad experience giving her some details of what happened. I told her how embarrassed I felt to be accused of stealing and that I wasn’t sure if I could feel comfortable shopping there anymore. I also mentioned that the girl who bagged my groceries was called into the office and I felt the door was not shut completely which added to my embarrassment. She stated oh well that was actually me and it’s required that someone is a witness when these situations occur. I stated well I’m sorry I didn’t realize that was you and apologize if I seemed short but as you could see I didn’t steal anything. She did say she was sorry but kinda just laughed it off in her tone of voice stating that loss and prevention is not employed by Super-One so there is nothing she can do. She also said they ran through the footage again after I left and both her and the security man felt bad. Maybe it was just me but I did not feel any true empathy from her. After feeling defeated and not truly heard or valued as a customer I said well have a good day ending the conversation. I realize this is a lengthy review but I’m just making people aware since I did not feel any resolution after talking with the manager. As a patron of this store who chooses to shop here frequently (often with her 2 kids and/or husband) I feel it is my right to be heard. Today was an awful experience for me, I truly hope no one else will leave this store feeling the same way or being falsely accused again!"
