Reviews of Raven Spa
"Had a wonderful experience at Raven Spa. We were a group of 6 and Lia & team were very cooperative in helping us get a good appointment. The masseuse’s are very professional and the deep tissue massage was very relaxing"
"Such a hidden gem. Surviving through a pandemic and cycling businesses, this cavernous spot feels like a refuge at the right time. Infrared Saunas are expected to resume September, but they offer many great massage options and the friendliest most accommodating staff and receptionist. It’s always an easy yes to swing by."
"My experience was great and relaxing: just what I wanted after a busy week. I booked Hammam treatment that included soak, full body scrub and oil massage. I booked it over the phone, website does not give an option to book it. The service was performed by a male specialist (his name is Most if I am not mistaken), and he did an amazing job! My service was scheduled on Friday morning, and there was a handful of meter parking spaces right in front of the SPA (3 hours max for $4). The service went just as they explained it over the phone when I made my reservation. They don’t have steaming room, like real Turkish hammams, they put you in the tub to soak for 15-20 minutes before scrubbing. The bath was just the right temperature, bubbly and relaxing. The atmosphere in the spa was private and relaxing. They play some kind of healing or relaxing frequency sounds, it’s hard to call it a music, but it was very pleasant. There was no loud chatting or laughing like in Korean spas, which I really liked. The service was performed very delicately and respectfully to my privacy. I felt safe and comfortable. Massage was so good, with the right pressure. The entire experience was about 90 minutes, nobody was rushing. I spent some time in their lobby lounge to enjoy the atmosphere. They provide robes and slippers, herbal tea, water and some fruits after service. Couple of minor cons I noticed: The lockers are very small, just enough for my clothes and shoes. If I would have a bag on me, it would be a problem. They do not ask about the soak scent preferences or allergies. That would be a nice must to get. You end up with wet hair after service, and there is no option to dry it. So be aware and plan your day accordingly. Paper cups looked out of the vibe, glass Turkish tea cups would make it authentic. The price for the entire service is $175 +20% tip. I also had to provide the card number for booking due to their cancellation policy."
"We got 60 min deep tissue massages (couples). Overall, we enjoyed the experience. There's no price difference vs ordering two individual massages, but specifying "couples" ensures you're in the same room as your partner. Relatively no frills experience but pretty good ambiance and really good service. The deep tissue was kind of a mix between a Thai massage and a traditional deep tissue massage. Masseuse was very receptive to feedback (areas of focus, too much or too little pressure). When it was over we were given some water, tea, and three pieces of fruit. I would note that there aren't separate "rooms". "Rooms" are separated by a curtain, so you can sometimes hear whispers/other people getting their massages. Wasn't an issue at all for us but just something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to hearing others/noise during your massage. You pay at the front and can tip with your card. We opted to tip our masseuses directly in cash."
"I opted for the Turkish bath, scrub and hot oil massage. Absolutely divine. As I walked through the door, I felt like I was transported to another continent. The artwork and decor created an ambience I have not experienced in L.A. I was taken to a small changing area with lockers for my belongings and given a robe and sandals to change into. The waiting lounge had a variety of seating options ranging from wicker chairs to velvet armchairs, a couch and a futon. My therapist retrieved me and led me to a room with 2 clawfoot bath tubs. 1 bath had been drawn, complete with fluffy bubbles. She told me to disrobe and enter the tub for 15 minutes. The temperature was perfect. 15 minutes later, she returned and directed me to exit the bath, not dry off, and lie face down on a towel on a massage table in the same room, which I did. She started by scoopping full bowls of bathwater into a bowl and pouring them over me. She spread body scrub all over my body, placed scrubbing loofahs on her hands and vigorously scrubbed by body from head to toe. She filled the 2nd bath tub with clean warm water and proceeded to fill the bowl and drench me in water. After numerous passes, she thouroughly slathered my body in bodywash and methodically rinsed me again. She told me to turn over and repeated the rinse, scrub, rinse, wash, rinse routine once again. She had me gently sit up and rinse me a few more times in a sitting position. She dried my back with a Turkish towel and directed me to put on my robe and meet her outside the room. She led me to a room with 2 massage tables. I disrobed and laid face down on one of the tables. She began by placing a hot towel on my neck. She used the towel to begin deep pressure on my traps and neck. She proceeded to scrub my shoulders, arms and back with the hot towel. She climbed onto the table and used form pressure to stretch and massage my legs and back. She finished with hot oil massaged into my skin. I turned over and she repeated the techniques. T the best part of the massage was the attention she gave to my feet and calves. She stretched them as she massaged and used acupressure. When the massage was complete, she asked me to meet her in the lounge area. She had prepared a small plate with hot tea, cold water, sliced apple, sliced orange and a date. This was an incredible escape from the day to day grind. It was fairly priced and worth every dollar. You don't have to travel or of the country to escape. I will return often."
