"Don't trust this business. I went through Costco for carpeting. Family Flooring was the retailer they use. Typically, I trust Costco completely. Unfortunately, Family Flooring was pathetic. We told the salesman that we wanted Continuous Filament carpeting. He asked us what kind of carpet we were looking for, what colors, thick or thin, etc. So we told him again that we wanted him to show us Continuous Filament carpets. His response was "I'm not going to bring every sample in." He clearly had no idea what Continous Filament carpet was. Instead of saying that he didn't know, he kept asking us what we wanted. Isn't he supposed to show us samples so that we can choose something????? After going back and forth, I told him the exact brand and style that I wanted so, he measured to give us a quote. The Family Flooring quote was more than $2,700 higher than a competitive quote I obtained. He presented the quote as only about $1,000 higher because of all the rebates we would receive from Costco. That was very deceptive because Family Floors has NOTHING to do with the rebates. All of the rebates were coming from Costco, not Family Flooring. In fact, he told me that I would have to submit the receipt to Costco and they would be sending me the rebates, not Family Flooring so, it was clear that Family Flooring had nothing to do with the rebates. Therefore, the quote that they gave was $2,700 higher for the same exact brand and style from a competitor. He asked if I had a printed quote which I showed him. He said he would contact the owner to see if they could match the competitive quote. The next day, he contacts me and asks to have the competitor quote show the installation charge as a line item on the quote sheet. I told him there is NO additional charge for installation because the competitor's price for the carpet already includes installation. They DON'T nickel and dime their customers like Family Flooring does. He then tells me he'll get back to me. Because of this, I told him that the owner needs to Beat the competitor quote in order for me to even consider doing business with Family Flooring. After three days, he still didn't tell me if the owner was willing to beat the quote. It's a simple decision by the owner, Yes or No. Because of the deceptive quote, inability to answer my question about Continuous Filament, unwillingness to show us samples, and the fact that they charge for installation, I went to the competitor who installed the carpeting the following week in both of my homes. Don't trust Family Flooring. If you want the name of the competitor, take a look at my reviews and you will see the review and name of the other carpet and flooring store which doesn't try to overcharge you. Same carpets, flooring, brands, and styles but at a significantly lower price with installation included in the carpet or flooring price."
