"Scummy! STAY AWAY! 1/5 BBB rating. Horrible company. Kitchen Island Piece has water stains after only a couple short weeks. We told them we were going to use it for a bathroom vanity and then even PAID EXTRA to have additional poly put on. It doesnt look like they poly it at ALL! Water stains all over it and their answer is "use a coaster".... use a coaster? for my bathroom?! Ridiculous! Will NEVER buy anything here again, STAY AWAY! and then theyre going to write below "you have to wipe off water" NO you dont, not if its poly correctly. My husband built our downstairs vanity and kitchen table- no water marks AFTER 5 YEARS! I use your piece for 5 weeks and its ruined already. YOU DID NOT POLY IT LIKE YOU CLAIM YOU DID Look at their reviews- only 3.9 stars and the negative reviews are all about horrible customer service! This company are LIARS! They will pretend you did something wrong, lie about us leaving a product outside etc. BAD COMPANY! Ignored our BBB complaint, now taking it to the CA Attorney General"
"PAINT ISSUES!!!! - Ordered Alyx center through Lori & Carrie - both were great communicators! They always responded quickly - off to a great start! - Picked up unit and brought home. Put bottom units together first - all good. - Unwrapped top units (bookshelves/bridge) and attached to bottom cabinets. NOTICED PAINT ON TOP DID NOT MATCH PAINT ON BOTTOM UNITS. ALL TOP PIECES WERE BRIGHT WHITE & ALL BOTTOM OFF-WHITE! - Emailed Vintage and sent photos (see 1st two photos below). Asked if we could fix ourselves and get a small discount. They didn't want to do this. - Lead painter (Greg) came to see paint issue. We asked if he could fix at our house, but he said he needed to re-sand/re-paint at shop. - Movers picked up all pieces and took back to Vintage. Received a message from Nicole there stating there were no color differences at all and that they would "re-lacquer" them. This is where everything went south. - I replied that there definitely was a difference and we would like it to be re-painted as Greg had said he would do that. - Two weeks later, movers brought back units. They set up bottom cabinets. We finished setting up tv, cable box, etc. and then unwrapped the top pieces. THE PAINT HAD NOT BEEN FIXED!! (see last 2 photos). - I called Greg (painter) on the phone and he now denies the color difference and is saying that it is our lighting and he can't help us with that - huh? We have white kitchen cabinets (top & bottom) and they NEVER look like they were painted two different shades of white. This furniture ALWAYS looks like it was painted two different shades of white. The WHOLE top section is a bright white and the WHOLE bottom section is an off-white (almost grey color). He sent us random pictures of the unit at the shop (not assembled) showing that supposedly the color was all the same - it is not. We are not making this up! Everyone that has been in our home has noticed the color difference even Greg who will now not admit it! - I sent another email back to Vintage with before/after photos again asking for a discount so that we can fix the paint ourselves. That was two days ago and I haven't had any response to my email except an apology from Lori at Vintage (thank you Lori) when she saw my "after" photos. No one else has reached out. I noticed that several Google reviews are very low because issues were not addressed appropriately. I also noticed that they have 4 complaints with the BBB (one regarding paint color). If they would have fixed our paint, we would have given them an excellent review. We were happy with the ordering process and the construction team did a good job. It is not acceptable to pay that much for mis-matched furniture. It is not acceptable for them to insist that the color is exactly the same or that somehow our "lighting" makes it a different color. We put photos so you can judge for yourself. It is also incredibly frustrating to get the furniture back 2 weeks later with nothing changed. What was the point? We will never order a large furniture item online again. It's just too risky. We see now that they have responded to this review with lies about having come to our house several times and that all we wanted was money from them. They also lied and said we saw the furniture outside and said it was all good - huh? That never happened. We also never approved any before and after pictures from the shop. The movers did come twice (and also noticed the paint issue and commented they had picked up other items for Vintage with paint problems), but Greg from Vintage only came out once. We did try to offer a more economical solution of letting us fix it at home for a discount. We never mentioned the word "refund" - we just wanted our furniture to be the same color! It also would have been less hassle for us (taking off work again twice). Instead, they wasted money and time pretending to re-paint the furniture which says a lot about their integrity. You get 5 stars by fixing problems (not pretending to fix them) and I do give 5-star reviews when companies earn it!"
"I am so pleased with my custom island from Vintage Mill Werks! Will definitely be purchasing from them again in the future. The island came in perfect condition, it was well wrapped and delivered with care. It did come within the 14 week time frame that I was advised it would take. It is a completely hand made item so it makes sense that it would take a while to complete. They were very patient and helpful with me as I asked for many models and stain choices while I made my decision. In the end, I chose the Jamestown model with additional 12" overhang on either end to accommodate seating since I did not have enough space to have seating on the long side, and a butcher block top. I chose the natural patina stain color and I am very happy with it. I feel the price was very reasonable considering the quality of this item as it compares to mass produced furniture in other stores. EVERY person that has come into my kitchen, including the trades I used as well as friends and family have commented on this quality piece of furniture! No doubt this company will be receiving many more orders all the way from MIami!"
"I am very disappointed with both the table and the customer service. Their description reads "...each piece of timber is hand selected, hand planed, hand sanded and then hand finished. The Natural Patina of the Pine shows years of exposure to the elements and are unique with no two planks looking the same" But the table surface appears to be a single plank of fresh pine with thick faux-grooves milled into it so as to appear to be individual planks. It is covered with a thick sealer of some sort, so it feels like plastic rather than wood. The color of the base and legs was a much brighter blue than the understated color I picked. (This color does not match any of the colors they offer.) The paint is air-brushed instead of hand painted with a brush. Everything about it looks to be a mass-produced computerized process rather than the handmade described above. It has been over a month since I returned the table and no one has responded to my complaint."
"My mom's house burned down last year. She lost almost everything. She had a lot of high quality furniture that she loved. We found vintage millworks online and drove to where they make everything in Corona. My mom fell in love with the quality and style of everything. They were so nice and helpful. We ordered 5 pieces. A couple custom sizes. We got everything today and it was all beyond our expectations. It was all so beautiful and of such high quality. I know she will cherish these pieces."
