Reviews of Belmont Shore KinderCare
"UPDATE AGAIN: 5-STAR after been here for over three year! My son moved to preschool now with Ms. Shamika and Ms. Lynda. Very grateful that our son is in the hands of great teachers. He’s been learning fast, and happy to go to school! He has his friends from his infant class, so happy to see all of them growing so well :) Before this, we’re with Ms. Laura and Ms. Kassandra. It was great too! My son moved to toddler class and is almost at the age 2. Ms. Diana, Ms. Noelle and Ms. Lisa have been so great that I can’t be more grateful for all their care, love and sacrifices for my little boy. Kudos to the team!! My son meets so many buddies here ;) Regina’s team is doing a great job. As new parents, we can’t imagine how to take care of our baby without their help! Ms. Rosario and Ms. Ana are fantastic! Ms. Molly is super nice! Recommendation for the center: if there’s a separate and quiet place for babies to sleep, that would be awesome. My son usually takes two naps during weekends for about 1.5 hours each."
"I get it. There are very few daycares in Long Beach with hours for working parents. But if at all possible, don’t send your little ones to Kindercare Belmont Shore, especially the toddler program. I sent my 1.5/2 year old to Kindercare for 6 months before I pulled her out. Ever since she moved in the twos room, I was dismayed by the constant teacher turnover. One teacher, who I complained about because she spoke to the kids inappropriately, got fired for physically abusing a toddler. The teachers in the toddler room didn’t seem to care about the kids at all. They were always on their iPads during pick ups and drop offs. They could never tell me about my daughter’s day. They seemed to have no training in child development. When I asked the head of school, Jennifer, what the hiring requirements were, she said it was the minimum 12 units in child development. That’s it. When I would pick up my Daughter , she was just sitting at a table waiting for me. No playing, no music, no fun. Also, if you do a tour, play attention to the decoration in the toddler rooms. There is none. The rooms are bare. They told us it was because it was a new room. Six months later, almost no toys, no art, no books. It felt like I dropped off my daughter to baby prison. No yard time. They only allowed the toddlers 40 minutes of outdoor time in the morning and 40 minutes in the afternoon. I removed my daughter from the school when I picked her up at 5:15pm and she was in a poopy diaper. The poop was crusty on her bottom, indicating it had been there for hours. I checked their log and the last potty was at 11am. My daughter wasn’t even supposed to be in a diaper. She is potty trained. I believe her teachers put her in a diaper so they wouldn’t have to take her to the potty. I filed a complaint with DPSS and they sustained it against KinderCare because the evidence was so clearcut. I wish I had never sent my baby there and I hope you don’t make the same mistake. I gave KinderCare two stars because the preschool program is adequate. It is not a good program. I don’t recommend it. But my 4 year old enjoyed it and at least the hours are good. But if you have any other option, don’t send your kids to Kindercare"
"Worst childcare I have ever experienced! After I let the center know we were not returning due to incompetence of staff. The teacher in the kinder class Kim, threw away all my daughters belongings and work that she had completed. Then when asked she lied and said she didn't know what happened to them. I had to call corporate for a resolution and apology. We previously came from BP KC and boy I wish I had decided to keep making the commute to BP. Hands down 1000 percent better facility and staff."
"Long overdue review! I will never recommend this school to anyone! 1- The teachers in classroom for 1 year old lack experience, do not teach, and the room is kept dark. 2- we picked up our son on day 2 and he peed through his diaper on to his black pants. They said, “oh it’s just water”. I changed him in the car, smelled his pants and his diaper was essentially a huge balloon! I immediately reported to the director, Jennifer. No apology was ever said from anyone. 3- Day 3, the teachers submitted pictures on the app clearly showing my son sitting in the back of a semicircle crying his little heart out. This was his last day here! We immediately removed him the following day. 4- Day 4, Fever and crying at 2am. Shortly after was diagnosed with Hand foot mouth disease. He cried every time we dropped him off - only 3 days. Initially, with the tour, everything seemed great but no! It’s not! The teachers are young, inexperienced, and do not have children…therefore are totally clueless of how to take care of any child. I read reviews prior to enrolling our son and should have listened! I hope other parents take heed."
"We have been taking our 16 month old son here for four months now and have been incredibly happy! The staff is all wonderful, friendly, caring, and professional. We love our teachers! The flexibility of long hours is great unlike some other daycare centers we have toured."
