"I began using Goomer for my middle child when we moved to the Evergreen area. It was a hard decision bc we were in a very comfortable (family!) daycare situation but it was too far when we moved. Goomer made this move easy! Deepti and Katie, specifically, and all the staff took care of my two youngest children, providing safe, loving, and clean environment for them to spend their days. Activities and routines were developmentally appropriate, and Deepti is constantly learning and growing herself with child developmental research and best practices. As a Speech language pathologist, this was so important to me. I wanted my children to learn but have fun and explore without inappropriate pressure to academically succeed. I will never forget a few things that happened that warmed my heart: - my youngest was having trouble adjusting to Goomer initially, and a teacher thought it might help to get rid of his blankie. When I expressed my concerns, the blankie was kept at school and within a few months, he transitioned to no longer needing it in the mornings - my daughter has childhood apraxia of speech significantly impacting her communication but no one ever made her feel different. They worked hard to learn how to communicate with her and also help me figure out how to transport her to speech 3x weekly - at back to school night, Deepti asked who wanted academic homework for their child (we did NOT!) and Deepti provided work for those that did and respected those of us who did not wish to have this - I was always welcomed as a parent when I would drop off/pick up my kids, come to events, etc. It was a family. I felt so sad when we left Goomer to move on to Elementary school, but alas that is life. I highly recommend this school!"
"Not sure why I haven't got the chance to review Goomer Academy. My daughter graduated from Goomer and son is currently going there. They both love their teachers, classrooms, and outside play areas. I don't have any other preschools to compare, but as long as my kids are learning and happy, that is all that matters. They learned and performed a lot of songs, and my daughter learned to read and do simple math by her graduation. I met a lot of other great families at Goomer, and we are still currently friends. One thing I hope they can improve on is to rotate their breakfast and lunch menu more."
"Somewhat worrisome. The teachers are trying but my one year old daughter was not in the right daycare. My daughter is quiet and gentle, and I felt as though she was not receiving the attention needed for a one year old. She came home extremely hungry, exhausted, and upset despite the teachers saying she slept 2-3 hours. At pick up, my daughter's face was also dirty with dirt, food, and milk. Lastly, the meals provided are not adequately nutritious."
"Think twice before signing your kids up. The teachers are ok but ownership is lack luster. Dipthi (owner) joins the class and makes judgement on kids. My kid was labeled and treated poorly. With two months left in the school year they gave us a 30 day notice that we have to find other child care. I prefer not to have my 4 year old where he is not welcomed by "child care professionals". Beware!"
"Very nice and caring staff, My kids love to be there."
