"I really hate to write a bad review, but this time I have to because I feel obligated to share my honest opinion with other parents. My child went to the toddler program at this facility for three months, and we had many issues. He had about an accident per week. I think it's understandable considering how much and how fast he moves around. However, there were some accidents/issues that could have been prevented with the right precautions/procedures. 1) They let someone their teacher never met pick up my child without checking their ID or calling me. The person is on the list of people I authorized to pick up my child, but checking ID or calling me would be appreciated. Anybody could claim to be the child's dad/uncle/auntie if you've never met them. 2) One time, at the pickup, the teacher (not his primary teacher or teacher's assistant) told me that he had been fussy all afternoon. When I changed his diaper, there were sand, woodchips and gravels inside of his diaper. No wonder he had been fussy all afternoon. I understand that those things could get into the diaper. But when a baby is fussy, isn't checking their diaper one of the first things on the list? There were also a couple of times that he got poopy diapers when I picked him up. He had two episodes of diaper rash while attending this facility, whereas he never had one before coming here. 3) Though bumping head on something is very normal, the following accidents are not that understandable to me. His fingers got jammed by a stainless steel door when his teacher closed the door on him; he fell on the back of his head when climbing up on a table; he had a bump on his head, and his teacher didn't know how it happened. There were times that he got hurt twice on the same day, and the teacher and one of the assistant director were clearly impatient when I asked more questions about his injuries. The facility's playground needs some work. It has large area of uncovered concrete ground, and there are places that could be wrapped and babyproofed but they are not. 4) One time, at the pick up, my child was kneeling on the floor in a crawling position, crying. His primary teacher and some other teachers were standing there, but nobody went to comfort him. I saw him crying like that without being picked up from the glass window. It broke my heart. I talked to one of the assistant directors about it and she told me she would ask the teacher about what happened and get back to me. She never did. 5) His primary teacher used "gross" multiple times to describe my toddler. Yes, drooling is not pleasant. And yes, picking noses is not pleasant. But I personally do not use this word to my child. Although compared to the other items mentioned above, this is minor to me. I actually really like their summer program. There were a lot of cool activities, but I think it posed a lot of stress for the teachers, which might have contributed to the number of accidents that my child experienced. This is just my guess. I really like the director Mandy, who is very patient and respectful when I talk to her about my concerns. Personally I like his teacher's assistant. I think she genuinely cares about the children. Overall, my personal experience at this daycare was very traumatizing. I got very scared of seeing their number calling my phone, which meant my child got hurt again. I finally could not tolerate it any more and withdrew my child from this daycare. I hope the facility could improve on safety for future parents and kids."
"My kid is going to sunnyvale Kindercare since he was 7 weeks old. This day care is awesome and they provide best care to kids. Everything about this day care is perfect. As director Ms Mandy did amazing job and she has set very high bar as how kids are taken care of in this day care. All teachers and supporting staff are so nice and supportive. I would definitely recommend this day care."
"Wonderful learning center. My son joined as infant and now in toddler. Had a difficult time adjusting to a new environment but teachers made it easier by keeping us informed at right time and trying to make him comfortable. Special mention to Miss Elini (spell check please), and Miss Ana during the infant time. Elini’s energy and care for toddlers is at another level. Thanks for all your support and care!!!"
"I Love it here!! My Son is thriving and Growing and they are SO amazing with the kids!! Thank you Kinder Care for all that you do and for being a part of my son's life and our family!!"
"My daughter loves this school, and we love how much she has thrived in her care over the last 15 months! She has had wonderful teachers (Melisa, Elisabeth, Lydia, Jackie, Alexandria, and Maite for early morning care), the administrators (Brie, Lauren, and Lorraine) know her by name and she gets excited just seeing them. The other parents are mostly friendly and the long, flexible hours make this facility an indispensable part of our quixotic lives. I also appreciate the biannual school portraits and monthly curriculum emails."
