About the Business
North Coast Opportunities, Inc. is a community-focused institution located at 413 North State Street in Ukiah, California. Our mission is to create healthy and safe communities with equal opportunities for all individuals. Through our vital services, we empower people to make positive transformations in their lives and work towards economic justice and well-being for everyone. We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our team in various positions throughout Lake and Mendocino Counties.
One of our upcoming events is the 9th Annual Farmers’ Convergence on March 19, which celebrates the local food system and the importance of farming in Northern California. This year's theme is "(re)building our local food web." Additionally, our Healthy Mendocino program is led by local community advocate for health, Mary Anne Cox.
Our Lake County Home Hardening initiative is making progress towards breaking ground on their first site in the Kelseyville Riviera, with the completion of their first contractor walkthrough. After 36 years of service, April Cunningham, founder of the Caring Kitchen program, is retiring. This program delivers nutritious meals to individuals and families facing cancer while providing local teenagers the opportunity to learn about nutrition.
North Coast Opportunities also offers volunteer opportunities for individuals aged 55 and older to help in local school classrooms as tutors and mentors. Hablamos español, so feel free to contact us at (707) 467-3200 for more information. Join us in creating thriving and inclusive communities for all.
