Head Start

Head Start is a school located at 20 Spruce Street in Willits, California, United States. As part of North Coast Opportunities (NCO), Head Start envisions healthy and safe communities with equitable opportunities for all. The institution empowers individuals to transform their lives through vital services and acts as a community leader in building economic justice and well-being. Head Start is currently seeking passionate individuals to fill various positions throughout Lake and Mendocino Counties.

The 9th Annual Farmers' Convergence will take place on March 19, celebrating the North Coast region's growing local food system and the profession of farming in Northern California. This year's theme is "(re)building our local food web." Additionally, NCO's Healthy Mendocino program is led by local community advocate for health, Mary Anne Cox.

NCO's Lake County Home Hardening initiative is making progress towards breaking ground on their first site in Kellseyville Riviera. After 36 years with North Coast Opportunities, April Cunningham, founder of Caring Kitchen, has retired. This program delivers nutritious meals to individuals and families facing cancer while providing community teenagers the opportunity to learn about nutrition.
