"This is no longer a Hotel. But serves great food with an historic bar. Refer to the Coast Guard House, at the wharf for a nice stay."
"On December 20th my family and I arrived late to our vacation destination at Irish Beach and needed to find a place to pick-up a couple of items but did not know where the nearest store was located. We asked a local gentleman who was walking with his two kids where a store was. He was hesitant to recommend the liquor store, but said it was the only place opened at that time. We couldn't understand why he reacted that way until after we shopped there. We drifted in to this store and were assured by the lady at the counter that some of the items were cheaper than the store in Manchester because we were contemplating waiting until morning. We picked up the items and approached the counter. Based on my calculations the price for the items we picked up should have been around $35.00. The lady behind the counter rang up all the items and said, $62.00. My wife and I stared at each other and then her. She would not lift her head up and act as if she was pre-occupied with bagging the 1 bag of items. I paid for the items that I NEEDED and went back to the rental house with my tail between my legs feeling mad as hell. I felt like I was ROBBED AT GUN POINT and asked myself if I made the right vacation decision for the two days... AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE AREA. Shop in Manchester, or even better the various stores in Fort Bragg. You wallet will appreciate it, and it will make your vacation experience much more pleasant."
