Reviews of Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa
"I popped in for a "Classic Facial", I'am not going to mention the therapist's name as this review is not a reflection on her but poor training from the franchise. Unfortunately for this branch my reviews is based on me being a Cidesco and Cibtac trained Esthetician with many years in the industry. I will start by saying that the treatment room was immaculate and clean and very pleasant, there was a waft of lavender in the reception which was immediately inviting and relaxing. The receptionist however could have been more warm and friendly. The Classic Facial as advertised is a very basic facial according to the their website "Tailored to treat skin concerns such as skin congestion, lack of radiance, skin sensitivity, fine lines, and loss of firmness. You will enjoy a deep pore cleansing, exfoliation and extractions. An excellent treatment for all skin types." - in my case my main problem was dehydration so I was upsold a "hydrating treatment" at an extra $30, I did have extractions done but only on my nasal area and nowhere else on my face.My actual skin consultation could have been more comprehensive and I would have appreciated if the Therapist had taken the time to notice I had other visible concerns like hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I appreciated that my Therapist put a led mask on me at no extra cost . I was invited to purchase a membership and the lady told me that usually the facial that I had costs a $179 but on membership its $99 , To be honest the treatment was sub par and find it hard to believe that what I had was worth $179 based on actual "hands on training" and there were many shortcuts. I would have taken a membership if I found my first introduction to the franchise of the very high standard of professionalism in the industry, sadly I was disappointed. I hope this review is take with constructive feedback . Client loyalty and retention is based on trust and offering the best standard of the treatment you are offering and then the Client will buy whatever it is you are trying to sell them."
"I just received a fantastic oxygen boost facial from Alicia at Hand & Stone Pleasanton and wanted to let everyone know what a great experience it was. I normally get a massage but the therapist was not available so I opted for the facial and it was even better than a massage; Alicia even gave my neck and shoulders a nice massage between layers of warm compresses and skin treatments, which numbered about 5. She also worked on adding brilliance and plumpness to the skin and reducing redness. I was very satisfied with the results."
"I’ve been seeing makeda for a few sessions, and I really like her. The spot itself is great, and that they are clean. Starting my membership wasn’t the smoothest because the manager made a few errors that affected my bank account, but he has since been let go. I have had pleasant experiences with the staff Beyond that. Very pleasant and professional"
"A friend gave me a gift card so I went here for a massage. The nice clerk asked me for a credit card to book an appointment that started in 45 minutes. So in order to use a gift card for a massage, they require a credit card? In case I don’t show up in the next 45 minutes… So they could take the hypothetical no-show from the $159 gift card balance, right? No.You can’t get an appointment with a gift card if you don’t put a credit card on file. I don’t want my credit card on their file. This place is across the street from where I live but I will not be coming back. I’ll gift the card to someone who cares less. This experience is the opposite of a relaxing massage."
"My 13 year old daughter had her first facial with Larissa in August as a special treat. She has been asking again when her next appointment will be. So I went ahead and scheduled another one. A little treat has turned into my daughter caring even more about her skin. Larissa is very knowledgeable and shared that with my daughter, making it easy to understand how to properly take care of her young skin and what she actually needs as her skin matures. My daughter loves her monthly self care facials. And we will continue to book with Larissa."
