"We really love catching an exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santa Barbara when we can. They don't always have exhibits going, so it pays to check their website first to make sure they're open. It's not a huge museum, but it's free to the public so who can complain? They've been around for over 50 years, the exhibits are always very interesting, as are the events they occasionally offer. Did I mention free? "Amazing place, great exhibitions of contemporary work from local, California, national and international artists. Lots of programming too, lectures, trips, tours, children's activities, far too much to list. It's really a gem in the community and a reason in itself to come to SB for a visit."
