"I was brought here for the first time by a friend about a year and a half ago and I've gone back several times since, normally whenever I'm in Solvang. They have a great selection of wine, cheese, cured meats, crackers, chocolates, and jams. Essentially the shop is a giant charcuterie board and I love it. The lady behind the counter has always been super helpful and if the store isn't too busy, she'll actually have a good conversation with you."
"The best cheese store in the world, I bought some gruyere, Provolone and manchego, they tasted absolutely great, the owners were lovely and nice to me, I'd definitely be back when I return, I look forward to try more of those delicious cheeses"
"3 employees in the store and I couldn't even get the woman I said hello to to acknowledge my existence. You know whose existence they did acknowledge? The the only other people in the store, who were actually spending money. There was a group of people buying things, and speaking to each other in Chinese. One employee said to the other "it doesn't even sound like they're speaking a real language." I was stunned. First, that they said that ignorant, racist, garbage, out loud in 2023; but also they said it about people speaking a language that pre-dates English by about 5000 years. These people were spending money in your empty store and you have ingnorant stuff to say about them loud enough for me to hear it? This store and the people work in it are garbage. Don't waste your time or money here."
"It was very bad experience! The cheese was spoiled. Completely. My 7-year-old daughter really wanted to buy herself cheese with her own money, which she saved. She chose carefully and wanted to enjoy the cheese so much. I opened the package in the car, and it was completely spoiled. She cried so much!!! It was a bid disappointment for her and she will remember this story for a long time. We went back to return it, but the store was already closed. I'm not sorry for the money, I'm sorry for such bitter children's tears. Store owners, if you are reading this, it would be fair to return the $2 to the child so that she knows that there is justice in the world."
"Lordy. The staff were pretty friendly and helpful. But. I bought cheese and salami. The cheese was awesome. Once I got home (three hours away) I tried the salami, it tasted like laundry detergent. Had to throw it all out. Nice place but treat with extreme caution."
