Reviews of Solvang Windmill
"The windmills a quick landmark. It's a cool vintage town in California. Try to avoid to go in weekend as very crowded. Perfect place for day trip."
"We arrived later than planned, around 4:45pm, right when the sun was going down. There was such a long time of cars exiting Solvang, but it was still very crowded in the town. We found street parking really quickly and saw a long line at one bakery and went in line to join the crowd, assuming this bakery must be really good. The town is really cute looking and the lights turn on at dusk and makes it look more festive. It’s pretty but not as pretty as Harry Potter World with Christmas decor, in my opinion. The windmill is very small and was not very impressive for us. The Danish pastries were yummy but on the sweeter side. I think stopping by Solvang is something cute to do for just a quick walk through for coffee and pastries before heading to your next destination on a road trip. I wouldn’t spend a whole day here, personally."
"We can echo what everyone says that this city is a tourist trap but I’m sure you knew that going here in the first place. The windmills a quick landmark. Pro tip is get here early. Parking gets sparse after 10:30am. Other pro tips, is to stand on the stairs next to the ice cream shop and take photos if you don’t want anyone in your shot."
"Cool vintage town. It’s a good place to visit and walk around with your family and friends occasionally."
"Definitely a tourist trap but if you are in for the full experience, then by all means make this a stop for your trip. It's super iconic and there's lots of things to do here. Just note, it's my opinion that all the bakeries sell the same thing and all the coffee shops sell the same product. with that in mind, if you skip a place or the line is too long, there will be another bakery, coffee shop or windmill. Enjoy!"
